They have called her 'Dolly'. Very cute. And very camp. I imagine it was Alex's suggestion, LOL!

Good choice, guys. And best of luck for the future xxx

Smashing name.

shimmy0 · 24/07/2012 07:24

Horrible

exoticfruits · 24/07/2012 07:26

Horrible!

exoticfruits · 24/07/2012 07:27

They can have a boy and call him Teddy to match!

EmmaNicole · 24/07/2012 07:29

Oh my word, this is my favourite name ever. Thank god my DH put his foot down with DD and wouldn't let me have it!!

Babylon1 · 24/07/2012 07:30

Hmm Confused
Not sure about it!

bigbluebump · 24/07/2012 07:42

Don't like it at all. Is it the full name or just a nickname?

GemmaPomPom · 24/07/2012 07:46

It's a name in itself. I think it is lovely Smile

It could have been so much worse bearing in mind the brain cells involved ! I quite like it

butisthismyname · 24/07/2012 07:53

It could be a shortened version of Dorothy - my grandma was dorothy but called dolly by a few people. I think I like it!

shimmy0 · 24/07/2012 07:54

Dolly Reid
Dolly Houghton
I don't think it goes with either surname and Dolly Houghton is too much like Dolly Parton.

stookiesackhouse · 24/07/2012 07:54

I really like it!

GemmaPomPom · 24/07/2012 07:57

Dolly Reid-Houghton.

I hate it.

And a grown woman called Dolly? Tragic.

GemmaPomPom · 24/07/2012 07:59

There were a few old ladies called Dolly around when I was growing up (in the 70s). I really thought they'd go for something common, like Amelie or Sophia. I think it's a great choice.

If i had ever had a little girl she would have been called Dolly Jane Rose........I think it is a lovely name and as others have said they could have picked something much worse like that idiot woman who's name i can't remember who called her daughter Papaya!!! Hmm Shock

shimmy0 · 24/07/2012 08:07

Ok if it's a nickname but no thanks if it's a full name

Badgerina · 24/07/2012 08:22

It's ok. A bit "little girly". Well... Quite a LOT little girly actually.

CharlieBoo · 24/07/2012 08:27

Lovely name, I like it, a bit different.

Northernlurker · 24/07/2012 08:28

Well it could have been worse.......

exoticfruits · 24/07/2012 08:39

......not much.

I once met a family at work who had children called Dolly and Teddy Hmm

mybabyweightiseightyearsold · 24/07/2012 08:44

I was always wary of descriptive names - who knows what little Dolly will be like once she's not a cute ickle wickle baybee?

I was at school with a girl who called her daughter Joy. Which is, a lovely name. Bit of a misnomer when she was going through her moody, grumpy, goth stage though.

Mind you, she neatly solved th problem by declaring that "Joy was dead" and she would only respond to "Raven" from now on.

She's back to normal again.

But, it certainly put me off calling my daughter Chastity.

Harry Kewell and Sheree Murphy named their daughter Dolly a few months back. I love it and was expecting ( and almost hoping) for so much worse. I had a Great Aunt Doll (short for Dorothy) growing up and she was amazing so I have very good associations with that name.
