Hit me with the poshest girls names you can come up with please.

I'm thinking alongthe lines of

Arabella
Persephone
Genevieve

I will be honest it is not for a baby but for my chickens. I have two to name.

Kiev and Nuggets - bit of a departure from the request though :)

MoonHare · 18/07/2012 18:01

Felice, Camille, Eloise = 3 french hens.

evenkeel · 18/07/2012 18:04

Thought of a couple more -

Dymphna

Evadne

Thomasina & Horatia are the names of Nigella Lawson's sisters apparently. Bet it was fun calling them all in for tea Wink

TheRedQueen · 18/07/2012 18:05

No, no, one of them definitely has to be Eglantyne (like Eglantyne Jebb, founder of Save the Children).

And for the other one, Hilda. Hilda the Hen.

Can we have some pics of the chooks once you've named them, OP? I would LOVE chickens but vicarious chicken-snooping on here is a good second best.

LemonBreeland · 18/07/2012 21:45

Thank you for all the wonderful ideas. I had a good chuckle at some of them.

LadyClarice I will endeavour to get photos if it ever stops raining.

Boudicca. I mean she was a Queen so she must have been dead posh.

Have you named them yet??!

SweetPea3 · 19/07/2012 11:22

Love this thread!

LemonBreeland · 19/07/2012 15:04

Well, we got a Bluebell chicken, so DS1 imaginatively named her Bluebell. We also have a white chicken that is probably going to be called Persephone (Percy). Although I am now loving Araminta, so I think she may be a Minty.

redrubyshoes · 19/07/2012 15:11

Could I just try one more and throw in Mintea?

almapudden · 19/07/2012 15:48

Caroline is the poshest name ever, followed by Camilla.

Caroline and Camilla

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 19/07/2012 15:50

Any chicken Camilla would have to fill the huge shoes/claws of Camilla from The Muppets.

I've always loved her but I have even more respect for her and her posse after their barnstorming version of the CeLo Green classic ? 'Cluck You'. Grin

Genuinely posh people have silly nicknames, some are mentioned above - minty, bunny, tiggy, hetty, etc. love the idea of posh chickens!

EdithWeston · 19/07/2012 21:03

The poshest person I know is called Ann.

Truly posh have really solid traditional names, plus outlandish nns.
