How popular is this name? It seems to be the only one we vaguely agree on so far! Any other similar suggestions? Middle name will be Elizabeth.

I know quite a few but they are all either in the infant school or junior school. Don't know any preschooler ones.

Ham69 · 14/07/2012 12:59

Very popular around here. Amanda Holden's recently had one too so that won't help. How about;
Polly
Tilly
Dolly
Connie

If you can't agree on anything else, go for it! There are far more popular names out there and it's a nice enough name IMO.

noddyholder · 14/07/2012 13:00

Its the only one of those sort of names I don't like sorry! Like Tilly or Poppy more

BabyStone · 14/07/2012 13:46

Like the name! it's actually one of our suggestions, we first came up with it when I was due at Christmas (sorry to say we had a m/c) but the name has stuck :)

hiviolet · 14/07/2012 13:49

Very popular with girls born in December, funnily enough!

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 14/07/2012 14:13

I love Holly! All the Hollys I know are hardworking girls with great character and conviction. (the 3 I know are 15/16yo)

It's on my 'if we have another' list.

VolAuVent · 14/07/2012 14:44

Miranda
Abigail
Jasmine
Bethany
Coralie
Natalie
Hannah
Amber
Ivy
Christina
Cassia
Emily
Amelia (Millie)
Grace
Constance (Connie)
Violet
Olivia
Serena
Lauren

I've got a Holly Elizabeth so I may be a bit biased but it is a lovely combination.

Yellowchair · 14/07/2012 19:20

Lovely only know one . I think it's in a different league to Tilly and polly and those cutsey names . Think it has a more classic feel.

mad4 · 14/07/2012 19:28

I have a Holly Eleanor, lots of people ask if she was born at christmas (she wasent)

I felt it had a more classy feel, and would suit a determined buisnesswoman as well as a cute little girl. but there are two holly's in her nursary group (although i dont know any others) so it may not be for you if you want your dd to be individual.

DessieLou · 20/07/2012 11:52

Thanks for all your comments. We're due 29th November so she may well be a December baby but the Christmas connection wasn't intentional! I agree with Yellowchair that it is a bit classier than the popular Tilly/Millie/Mollie/Maisie's. It's currently top of the list so thank you for your opinions, it's always good to get points of view from other people in other areas. Smile

My niece is Holly (aged 3) and she is just adorable.

Lannie33 · 20/07/2012 19:51

Love Holly. I only know one (in her early thirties). She's a ballet dancer. It's not that common in Canada.

3bees · 20/07/2012 20:07

Holly is lovely and will suit her at any age. There is one at dds pre school.

GnocchiNineDoors · 20/07/2012 20:10

I only know adult ones, and they are all Hollie which I prefer.

I really like it and think it is one of the more classic but underused names. A bit like Emily - doesn;t date.
