How about Francesca?

amck5700 · 08/07/2012 13:24

My youngest didn't have a name for a week and a half, don't be rushed or bullied into a name too soon. :)

MoonHare · 08/07/2012 13:35

Hi Sara13

Maybe a few busy days where there no time to obsess over names will help clear your mind and something will just pop in to your thoughts. If not then to add to the thread I would say I'm personally not wild about Nancy. Of your own list I prefer Erica, Alexandra and Lydia.

I have a 'thing' about a ending girls names and as you seem to like them too (apols for any repeats) how about; Eliza, Tabitha, Anita, Ursula, Ramona. On our girls shortlist at the moment are also; Harriet, Isobel (though so ubiquitous these days it's still lovely) Meredith and Bryony. I also love Iris but we can't have this.

The Claudia we know has a sister called Imogen.

My sis in law took the full 6 weeks to decide on a name for their DD, it seemed like an age to all of us who were waiting at the time but looking back I hardly remember my niece ever being anything other than her name. Don't feel under pressure from those around you, it's none of their business really.

Best wishes.

congratulations!

What about alexandria culd shorten to Xandria, or Alexa.

GretaGarbage · 08/07/2012 22:33

Lydia and Erica are bothfantastix.

Nancy is not nice with Claudia.IMHO

fanjodisfunction · 09/07/2012 12:33

What about Constance and call her Nancy for short.

Lannie33 · 09/07/2012 20:17

I know exactly what you're going throught, didn't name DD until about a week after she was born, and even then felt pressured and rushed by everyone-i had no girl names as i thought i was having a boy. Anyway, don't feel any pressure and TAKE YOUR TIME! I was rushed and to this day still consider calling her by her middle name. So take all the time you need and go with your gut, don't listen to what anyone says, if you love Nancy, go with Nancy.
If I were to name my own child from your list I would go with Alexandra and call her Alexa or Lexie, but you shouldn't care what i or anyone else says! ':)

NappiesandGladrags · 09/07/2012 23:26

We are off to register her tomorrow ....DH thinks we need more of a spanish feel to the name .... hes not being very helpful.... What a dilemma.... ive never been good at decision making!!!

Oo, I love Lucia, that goes very well with Claudia. Claudia and Lucia. Likewise, Sofia. Good work VolAuVent!

Why do you need to register her so early? We didn't get around to it until DS was 4/5 weeks old!

Odmedod · 10/07/2012 11:21

Nancy is a fab name!

Anyway:
Delta
Zita
Vita
Romilly
Cecily

milk · 10/07/2012 11:25

Congratulations :)

I like the names Emma and Chloe :)

HandMadeTail · 10/07/2012 11:29

If I had a girl tomorrow, I'd call her Calypso.

But what about putting the names you like in a hat, and pulling one out.

When whatever random name comes out, you may get a "moment of clarity" when you just know which name you want.

(I also love Sylvia.)

HepHep · 10/07/2012 11:31

Ava
Amelie
Grace

foolserrand · 10/07/2012 11:42

Of your list, I think Erica would go beautifully with Claudia. We named our dd Felicity, which seems to be in the same vein as your list.

Congratulations!

monstertufts · 10/07/2012 11:45

Congratulations!

I really like Japanese-sounding names like Suki and Reiko.

I wanted to call our DD Juliet but DH vetoed it. We liked Rowan, but it doesn't go very well with our surname. We considered the Irish name Caoimhe (pronounced 'keeva') when I was pregnant a second time, but that turned out to be a boy :D

Clairemumto4girls · 10/07/2012 11:46

Seren..it's Welsh and means star. I have a Seren myself, as well as a Kymberley, Ashleigh and Ffion. :)

GnocchiNineDoors · 10/07/2012 11:49

Anyone used to read Babysitters Club? Claudia had a sister called Janine

Claudia sounds french to me.

Fabienne - Estelle - Mona

grayal · 10/07/2012 11:52

Well my name is Alexandra Louisa and my sister's name is Nancy so I reckon you're on the right lines.. ;-)
Nancy is a FAB name

saffronwblue · 10/07/2012 11:57

The Swedish Crown Princess just surprised everyone by naming her baby Estelle, so there will be a Queen Estelle one day. I'd go for it - it is a lovely name.
Lydia is too close to Claudia.

But don't let you Mum put you off Nancy if it is the one you love best.

noddyholder · 10/07/2012 11:58

Love Nancy. My mum didn't like ds name but tough!

diddl · 10/07/2012 12:00

Jessica?

I like Louisa & Lydia from your list.
