Hi everyone,

Any suggestions of boys names that go with Ottilie?

Thanks.

Adore the name Ottilie

Reuben is gorgeous (and would go well) - but there are a LOT of them where I live.

Raphael or Fabian or James.

lottiegarbanzo · 12/09/2012 08:14

Also maybe Gilbert.

shoobidoo · 13/09/2012 15:05

Or how about Ottilie & Marcus?

mathanxiety · 13/09/2012 20:02

Love Conrad, Fabian, Julius, Thaddeus and Clement already suggested.

How about
Casimir
Valentine

newby2 · 14/09/2012 07:15

My first instinct is Hugo. Love Ottilie.

Wow, hadn't realised the trend had restarted.

Fab suggestions guys.

I love Ottilie.

Boys' names that would go well imo are
Quentin
Tristan
Clement
Alexander
Sebastian

bigbluebump · 14/09/2012 14:46

Most boys names will 'go' with Ottilie apart, perhaps from names ending in -ie such as Louie, Charlie etc.

We have a Quentin (which I love Smile) which I think would go well, but there are lots of other nice suggestions above.

Haha Tough! Errrrm can't remember if I confessed on the previous page but I don't actually have an Ottilie myself yet! It's the only thing giving me gender preference!

What I'm worried about doing is having a boy and choosi g a name that doesn't 'go' with a future dd ottilie!! If I'm never blessed with a dd ottilie, I've already warned DH that we'll be naming something Ottilie!

Big blue - Louis's on our list :-/ I think Otti and Louis works but aggree Ottilie and Louis doesn't. Quentin will be brought into discussions.

Does anyone like Albert? (nn Burt)

Gilbert nn Gil! Jazz reference, very cool but sophisticated (like Ottilie).

planetpotty · 14/09/2012 20:47

Ottilie & Franco

scarlettsmummy2 · 14/09/2012 20:58

I have an ottilie and my choices for a boy were Hugo, Max and James.

lottiegarbanzo · 14/09/2012 21:08

That was my subtle way of saying maybe not to Albert. It is a Victorian, grandad in shed type name, in that tranche of popular grandad names. Ottilie makes me think of the Bloomsbury set (Lady Ottiline Morrell) (and otters... v good), so 1910s and 20s. So jazz age, not flat-capped victorian / WW2 grandad.

Diamond7 · 14/09/2012 21:32

Lottie - I guessed :-).

Did you know Ottilie Patterson was a Jazz musician?

I do like Hugo but someone we know have used this and really don't want to look like we're copying.

lottiegarbanzo · 14/09/2012 21:48

No, that's perfect!

Lolwhut · 14/09/2012 21:55

Leander

Or

Atticus

(love Ottilie)

Personally, I wouldn't go for another O name.

anamaria22 · 14/09/2012 22:59

Ottilie is a lovely name. I'd avoid any name ending in -ie or -y.

I really like the names Raphael, Clement and Quentin and think they go well with Ottilie.

outtaleftfield · 04/03/2013 17:41

My name is Ottilie and my brother is called Oscar.

mayanna123 · 04/03/2013 19:36

Love the name Ottilie!
