Hi all

Quick fire round Grin

Do you prefer Darcie or Darcy? I am not sure on Darcey but what the hell throw that in the mix too!

Thanks

Darcy
Darcy
Darcy
Darcy
Darcy

Fabulous name.

DD2 is called Darcy Grin

One friend insists on spelling it D'Arcy

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 19/06/2012 21:52

Bambie your DD2B is only the second other little Darcy I have heard of (I mean I am not counting Darcey Bussell as she is a Grown Up)

Mine, the DD of one of our builders, and now yours! I am not sure why but this is making me inordinately pleased and I am sitting here Grin from ear to ear!

I have a Darcy. She was gonna be Darcie but when all the Congrats on your new baby cards arrived they all had it spelt Darcy.
So it seemed logical to go with that.
Oddly in cards since she's had a few Darcey's too.

Dropdeadfred · 19/06/2012 22:04

My dd3's middle name is Darcy

randomimposter · 20/06/2012 06:33

Darcy is my favourite. Then Darcey. I tend not to like ie spellings,

OH Darcy was on our list.

BTW Darcy is in our name book as meaning dark one or dark haired one.

BambieO · 20/06/2012 10:37

I am positive she (if it is a she! we still don't know but have settled for a boy's name already) will be dark haired so that will fit nicely Smile

You could always use Marcie instead. I knew one years ago - it was short for Marcella.

FWIW, I've got a children's book from the early 1900s in which it's spelt 'Darcey'

SayHelloToMyLittleFriend · 22/06/2012 12:40

I love the name and wanted it for our second dd but dp wasn't keen. If we ever had another girl I would probably try and talk him round. I didn't know it meant "dark haired one" either, dd2 was born with a full head of dark hair, would have suited her perfectly :)

SayHelloToMyLittleFriend · 22/06/2012 12:40

Sorry, just realised I haven't answered your question at all. I think I'd go for Darcy!

ben5 · 22/06/2012 12:42

Darcy.Used to like the name until I meet a girl called Darci and shes horrid!

bouncysmiley · 22/06/2012 20:58

Darcy

StetsonsAreCool · 24/06/2012 21:13

We have a Darcey. Someone got our reason further upthread. It seems less cutesy than -ie and Darcy looks like a boy's name.

And it just 'looked' right next to our surname and the other spellings didn't Confused

We have had every conceivable spelling under the sun though, so she will be destined to a life of constantly correcting people however you spell it.

I love Marcie too, but a friend had already nabbed that one Grin

jellybeans · 25/06/2012 15:38

Darcy. I know a D'Arcy and people take the mick.

BambieO · 17/07/2012 18:03

Thanks all BTW! Darcy it is Smile
