What do you think of Tabitha?

What do you think when you first hear or see it?

"Tabs" is slang for either ears or drugs.

I've a little Tabitha who gets called The Tabster...... People seem to love it!

I'd have chosen it had I ever had a second girl.

Love it. I wanted it for Dd but DH said no. I STILL think of her as Tabitha.

Cat then Bewitched. I think it's an ugly name.

Very pretty name-however the only one I know [4yo] is known as Bitsy which is truly horrible imho.

I think she is goregous and funny and clever and can be a bit feisty and grouchy, lovely long curly hair. did I mention I have one so obviously love it :)

I have a Tabitha,she is very girly,in an old fashioned way so it really suits her.It does remind most people (including me)of cats,but i love cats and she is quite cat like!So i dont mind.

I also have a Tabitha so rather love the name. She is Tabs and Tabi and sometimes tabster as per one of the above posts :) People have often mentioned Bewitched and cats but I don't mind that. She totally suits her name - she's tall, willowy and scatty.

I love it, my god-daughter is called tabitha, her nickname was tabba for ages cos DS couldn't say her name properly.

We have one and she gets Tabby, Tabs or Taffa (from DS), mainly Tabitha though. Clearly I think it's a fab name. We do get mixed responses when we tell people her name, so if this along with the constant cat and witch comments don't put you of then go for it. But don't everyone go and use it!

Without any context,'Tabitha' makes me think of Tom Kitten's mother.

Applied to a small girl, pretty name.

Applied to a grown woman, probably quite posh and clever. I don't know any way to assess the likelihood of belonging to unscientific professions but if you google 'Dr Tabitha' you will find lots of medics and scientists. Take no notice of the 'too girlie' or 'homely' naysayers

Both DH and I are "Drs", so she'll be the off-spring of scientists

I love it. I know a 10yr old Tabitha who is a beautiful, bright, considerate & just totaly lovely girl. She gets called Tabs by her school friends.

I also like it. I prefer names that aren't shortened so I'd be the parent who always calls the child by the full name.

Eg - is Tabs home?

She is feisty, headstrong, beautiful and answers to Tabby or Bea

I really like it, would be on my short list.

Makes me feel all jilly coopery.
