Middle name Nanette...

After my Gran who died a few weeks ago. I'm not overly keen on it,tbh, but it made my mum happy and I don't mind for a middle name.
But I'm struggling with first names.
Dh is Irish (as is our surname) and wants Aoife. But nearly everyone I have mentioned it to say "Eefa? E for elephant,E for everton..."
I liked Phoebe last pg,but nt so keen now as it's quite popular.
I like Orlaith and Saiorse (for the Irish names for dh) but he doesn't like them.
Would like an Irish name,or a name that's not too overused.
This is pg number 5 and I'm stumped.
Feel free to throw in boys names too...I don't know the sex!!!

I think Nanette is lovely, actually. Also like Aoife and Saiorse.

For boys, how about Quentin or Quinn as this is your fifth baby?

AngryBeaver · 12/06/2012 10:45

Ah,5th pregnancy...4th baby didn't make it,but I can never bring myself to leave them out Sad
Funny you should suggest Quinn,I love it for a girl, but we have a Finley often shortened to Fin...dh would never in a ,illion agree to Quentin.I'm pretty sure he would say "ach!catch yerself on,woman!" Grin

Umm, Saiorse is spelt SAOIRSE so maybe don't go for that one! And Quinn is surname so I wouldn't go for that either. :)

I quite like Nanette I have to say.

I like Nanette and Phoebe. I don't know any little Phoebes, so don't think it is that popular. How about Ronan for a boy?

(op, your dh is not a Quentin Tarantino fan, then Smile).

Nanette, being your Gran's name, would be a lovely middle name. I think most people would know how to pronounce Aoife, even if you have to educate them first. For boys, how about Cillian or Liam.

What about Nancy rather than Nanette?

AngryBeaver · 12/06/2012 23:06

Well it kind of has to be Nanette as that was my Grans name!! We can't have Ronan as we have a Rhoan...and we definitely can't have a Liam as theat would make (together with our surname) a famous musician!
