They all sound lovely and feminine to us, plus Esme is an old family name. Our two sons have family names.

Emma has a lovely sound. But we're from the generation of there being at least two Emmas in every class!

I just googled it, maryz, and what a horrid sounding character. Confirms why I've never got caught up in any of these vampire programmes. Phew, glad the name doesn't have those associations for me!

MaryZ, I just read a book with a character called Flair Hickory in it. That's five hours of my life I'll never get back.

How about Esmerelda? Beautiful and can be shortened to Esme.

We have a good friend called Esmeralda though, so we've already discounted that one. It's a funny thing, but we've never been able to bring ourselves to use names of people we know! Just got to hope we don't meet an Esme before September!

How does Esme Emina sound? Surname is single syllable and starts with a hard consonant.
