so we have a shortlist but would love to hear views between the following (and if you think they are all terrible, that's fine too : ))

reuben
rafael
alexander
abe
oren
gabriel

what do you think? was thinking of using a combination of the two as first and second names...

Thanks all

reuben - ok
rafael - like (esp. Rafa)
alexander - like (esp. Alex)
abe - no
oren - nope
gabriel - like

How about Alexander Rafael or Gabriel Alexander? Think they are probably my favourites from your list.

DharmaBumpkin · 01/05/2012 13:18

Reuben Alexander would be my pick :) Lovely combination!

bigbluebump · 01/05/2012 13:41

Reuben and Alexander are quite popular already, the others less so. Personally I quite like Rafael, Oren and Gabriel. Not heard of Abe before - is it a nickname for something?

BlueChampagne · 01/05/2012 14:09

Alexander and Rafael are my favourites from your list.

BBQJuly · 01/05/2012 14:50

I like Alexander best, then Reuben and Gabriel. Abe is nice but only as a nickname (for Abraham).

othersideofchannel · 01/05/2012 15:31

Abraham is lovely, nickname Abe.

Also like Gabriel and Rafael. Alexander is ok but very much used already.

DidntGetTheMemo · 01/05/2012 15:55

I like Ruben and Alexander - strong, classic, no nonsense names.

Gabriel is OK. Much more popular than it ever was, these days.

I prefer thespelling Raphael, but nice name.

Abe short for Abraham - great name.

Dont like Oren at all.

Geranium3 · 01/05/2012 19:32

Love, love rafael but like memo prefer raphael, pls do name your ds this, such a wonderful name, i would have called my ds this but had all dd's!mine would have been raphael edward or raphael oscar, out of your names i would go for rafael gabriel. Good luck

FrauGrau · 01/05/2012 19:44

No to all except Alexander. Unless you are Jewish in which case all ok, otherwise pretentious.

MrsJamin · 01/05/2012 19:50

Know a few reubens, ridiculous to suggest only Jews can use them when they are in the bible which Christians use also. I'd go with Reuben out of this list.

Slambang · 01/05/2012 19:53

Oren (only as the middle name).
Alexander a bit boring.

All the others lovely.

Geranium3 · 01/05/2012 20:17

just realized rafael gabriel rhymes so maybe not such a good idea! so like rafael alexander best or please feel free to use edward or oscar!!
