Noah - for a girl

Have been looking through my Bible for some inspiration and there is a female Noah in the Old Testament. I kinda like it - any thoughts?

Well, I am bothered. And it was you that attacked me. Please search out what I said and repost it on here, removing the names, obviously.

ilovesprouts I disagree with seeker on the name thing here but what you've said is seriously bad form...

I wouldn't give a name that is going to cause confusion and give her a lifetime of explaining.

seeker · 30/04/2012 22:07

I'd just like to put it on record that I have never ever "attacked" anyone's child. Ever.

Ilovesprouts- either back up your accusation or retract it and apologise.

threeleftfeet · 30/04/2012 22:40

If someone said "i had to name change after having a row on here threeleftfeet took the piss out of my dd and i and my lifestyle"

I'd be horrified, and very apologetic! I'm sure I never have taken the piss out of anyone in this way, but if someone thought I had I'd want to make amends, not make them feel worse.

"You shouldn't have raised it if you couldn't stand by it." that's simply playground politics.

Sheesh!

My first response was ."how awful- what did I say" to be told that the poster concerned couldn't remembr.

I am as sure as I can be that I would never have attacked or taken the piss out of somebody's child. Are you saying that I am guilty because thisnperson says I am, and that I should accept that I diid something completely out of character and grovel , on her say-so alone? It would be easy for to find the offending post- I don't understand why she won't.

UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea · 30/04/2012 23:00

@MmeBucket - Kevin ! PMSL

threeleftfeet · 30/04/2012 23:04

How? This is how you do it:

"I'm very surprised to hear that you feel that I took the piss out of you and your daughter. I can't remember ever doing this, and I sincerely hope it's a misunderstanding. But if I have made you feel like this I am truly sorry, it is never my intent to make anyone feel I'm taking like that. If you want to pm me a copy of the original comments I promise I'll read them and reply to you. Although if you don't want to bring it up again I understand. I hope we can make amends."

That is what I would write anyway.

misslinnet · 30/04/2012 23:06

I've only ever seen or heard of Noah as a boys name.

If you do like it as a girl's name, I'd spell it Noa as others have suggested to minimise confusion regarding your child's gender.

Maybetimeforachange · 30/04/2012 23:07

I absolutely love Noa for a girl, not at all unusual around here and a very pretty name.

furmulaic · 30/04/2012 23:25

Ilovesprouts - If you can't even remember, you shouldn't have said anything at all. What you've done is unfair.

bigbluebump · 01/05/2012 09:03

Another vote for Noa (without the h) - beautiful, underused and feminine name!

AlexanderSkarsgardIWould · 01/05/2012 11:14

If you don't like the name MamaLazarou that's fair enough but there's no need to be so rude.

There's been some real drubbing going on on this board recently.
Maybe people are suffering from cabin fever because of the rain......

Ignore.....

chaya5738 · 01/05/2012 13:57

I think it is a BEAUTIFUL name for a girl.

I get really depressed about living in the UK when I see all these people writing that it is unequivocally a boys' name. Have you had no exposure to other cultures?!

chaya5738 · 01/05/2012 13:57

ps: I would spell it NOA (not Noah)

duchesse · 01/05/2012 14:00

Some Jewish friends have a Noa (without the H). Apparently it's the most popular girl's name in Israel at the moment. We were all a bit Hmm as had never heard of it used on a girl before. Two years and I can't think of her anything else.

MamaMaiasaura · 01/05/2012 14:01

Nora?
