Actually, I don't mind it; my friend has a Jim, now 9, and the name suits him. I think he is possibly a James, but has never used that name.

Can't see the name objectively but mainly because I worked with a narcissistic Jim recently.

My chosen name and I like it (and although a gentleman, I am not yet middle aged) although Jimmy might be a better nickname if you think Jim is a bit fogeyish.

James is on my birth cert though, even though it only the Doctor, Dentist and Bank who know me as thus.
