Roan, Rohan, or Rowan?

Which of the three would you prefer if you had to pick? (If you like none of these, I'd prefer you just didn't comment full stop Smile)

I know Rohan can have different pronunciations, I would most likely pronounce it as a combo of the other two. Roan with a very slight syllable separation I suppose.

Rohan for a boy, Rowan for a girl.

DS is a red head (not flame red but sandy) and our next will probably be red headed too and I'm considering Rohan for a boy. So far people have just been rude when I've mentioned it Hmm

Roan to me says horse colour - sorry. Would pronounce Rhone.

Rohan, as somebody else said just reminds me of the shop and I would pronouce ro-hann.

Rowan - we know a little boy Rowan which is pronounced Ro-in (as in row a boat)
We also know a girl and it's pronounced Ro-in (as in have a row, argument)

Apparently Rowan is all in the pronounciation as to whether it's a girls OT boys name. For ref, both kids are Scottish, and one of the little boys parents is Irish.

Out of them all, Rowan is my fave. But personally, I prefer to steer clear of names that will cause confusion for the kid growing up (and adulthood) re pronunciation or spelling.

Sorry, OT should be 'or'
