Initials EJT?

MadMonkeys · 04/04/2012 18:28

I love a combination of names that would give the initials EJT - which I don't think we can use. Other people say I'm being too picky - what do those initials say to you? Thanks.

Are you in Ireland? Eejit?

Not what I would have thought of, just trying to figure out what the problem is :)

vigglewiggle · 04/04/2012 18:31

Because you made me think about it I did think "eejit" but only because you made me think about it and DH is Irish and says it occasionally.

I really wouldn't give it a second thought.

outyougo · 04/04/2012 18:32

I read the thread title as 'Initials eejit'

scottishmummy · 04/04/2012 18:34

eejit=foolish,stupid
not complimentary
sure to get piss taken in Scotland and/or ireland

oohlordylordy · 04/04/2012 18:35

Sorry, screamed EEJIT to me.

vigglewiggle · 04/04/2012 18:40

Whoever cares about initials though? I'd say no if it was BUM or TIT or something equally obvious and ridiculous, but I really wouldn't give it a second thought.

MadMonkeys · 04/04/2012 18:40

Yeah, eejit is what i thought. I'm in England actually, so if eejit comes to mind even more readily in SCotland and Ireland I'll have to o back to the drawing board. Thanks for your frank answers.

First name and surname give initials E.T. which to me is the extraterrestrial.

vigglewiggle · 04/04/2012 19:59

I know I'm a lone voice banging on here Wink but think about it - can you immediately think about what your friends' initials are? Can you actually say what any of your children's friends initials are? So who exactly would be amused by this and what is it that is worrying you?

lolajane2009 · 04/04/2012 20:02

better than my initials pre marriage which were JCB

Heavensmells · 04/04/2012 20:03

I didn't think eejit until somebody wrote it. Agree that unless initials are very obviously a silly/rude word then I wouldn't worry about it.

MadMonkeys · 04/04/2012 22:08

You don't think there's potential playground ammunition there Heaven?

Heavensmells · 04/04/2012 22:18

No I don't. Firstly I don't really see a situation at school when kids would notice, secondly (is that a word?) kids get teased for all sorts. My ds1's name is Jake and his mates are currently calling him Jake the snake which he HATES. I guess you could twist most names to take the mickey really.

scottishmummy · 04/04/2012 22:20

you dont see it as youre not a kid in playground
kids can tease about anything

BackforGood · 04/04/2012 22:23

I don't think that other children know what their classmates middle names are though.
Mind, that still leaves "ET" Grin

PinkPolkaDots · 05/04/2012 14:43

I thought Eejit when I saw the title, sorry!

daffodilyellow · 05/04/2012 15:56

I dont think it's bad. I know someone with the initials GAS

minipie · 05/04/2012 17:36

I didn't think Eejit (and I use that word all the time).

I really don't think it would be an issue.

mathanxiety · 05/04/2012 20:33

If you like the names you've chosen, just add a third forename as long as it doesn't start with I.

abbypumpkin · 05/04/2012 23:00

I didn't think of that until it was spelt out. I agree with pp that unless initials spell NOB or TIT or the like I really don't see a problem. Can't imagine that in England anyone will even notice/consider the three initials
