Can we use DD's middle name for baby #3 (if it's a girl!)?

As above really, we are really struggling for a girls name and both LOVE dd's middle name. Can we use it, or is it a bit weird?

oooh very divided opinion! It's not that I haven't got the imagination to think of another (give me a little credit!) It's just that of all the others we like, we don't like them as much as Charlotte. Which is also my late Grandmother's name.

I take on board that if DD1 decides she doesn't like her first name, she is stumped (but she has a lovely name too!) Interestingly zxcv123 most of the names on your list have been on our list and include my name, my mums name etc etc.

I'm just finding it soooo hard and I don't think it helps that I teach and associate most names with another child - Charlotte is one that I have no preconceived ideas about (other than of course, she will be happy, kind and have some high flying job when she is older!)

I can't see a problem TBH. My DS has eight children, one of her boys has the same as you are describing. Say for arguments sake DS1 is David Terry, DS2 is Terry Gareth. It hasn't ever caused a problem.

DS is sister by the way.

Oooh I wouldn't do this, really. Bit more extreme I know, but I know a family with 3 DDs, and the youngest has the middle names of the older 2 as her first and middle name and she hates it - feels that as a third DD she was so 'unspecial' that her parents couldn't even think of an original name for her Sad

I know that's not the same as what you're suggesting OP but even so I just couldn't.

It is a bit unusual nowadays, and I prefer Charlotte as a middle name, but I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Would you consider Caroline, Carolyn or Carlotta instead, as they are all variants?
