Rosemary?

Hubby and I chose the name a couple of months ago, but as our due date gets closer I can't help but wonder if it really is as lovely as I first thought. Nobody else that I've told seems to like it at all :( (although DH is still convinced). I'm just a little worried with our surname 'Mallows' she's going to sound a little like a Cumbrian tourist attraction.

Any thoughts?

I think it's lovely. BUT - I think Rosamund is even nicer. I think the 'Rosa' bit adds something to it.

Both names are good because they have an easy and beautiful shortening too - Rosie, Rose, Rosa.

Rosie Mallow/ Rosa Mallow / Rose Mallow - Lovely!!!

I'm another Rosemary who has always been called Rosie. I hated my full name as a child (maybe because it usually meant I was in trouble!) but like it now. It has a nice meaning - dew of the sea, because that's what people thought the flowers looked like when it was growing on cliffs. And there are plenty of options for short/nicknames - Rose, Rosie, Rosebud, Mary Rose, etc. - my mother used to call me Rose of England sometimes!

I'd love to use Rosamund for a daughter but am afraid two Rose-names in one house would be confusing as she gets older.

I think it's lovely. Rosie is cute as a nickname, but as a full name it's grown-up and elegant. Don't let others out you off - if you love it, go for it!

I've had to learn to live with it, it's an OK name neither here nor there and very easily forgettable, there are some much nicer names to be honest.

I think Rosemary is a beautiful name, and she can use it, or Rose, or Rosie, or Mary ... very adaptable! I wouldn't worry about the surname; I think it sounds nice, and she won't exactly be called Rose Mallow will she?

I agree that Rosamund and Romy are both lovely too, if you're having second thoughts but want something similar.
