Girls names to go with Thomas

Hi all! I'm just after a bit of advice re. a girls name. My little boy Thomas will turn 3 the same week as I'm due (July). If it is a boy we have only one name...George, but if it's a girl we have quite a long list to choose from:
Lily
Tilly
Mia
Eva
Evie
Olivia
Georgie
Summer
Daisy

Decisions decisions!
Feel free to add to the list of girls names too :)

I have a Thomas and our shortlist for DD was whittled down to Mia and Poppy.

We went with Poppy. It's not a popular name on MN but we both love it and have given DD two "sensible" middle names she can use, should she wish to be a High Court Judge and find Poppy unsuitable!

Actually, your list is identical to our "long" list apart from you have Olivia (horrible name IMHO) and we had Poppy.

Harriet? Though my DSiL chose Felicity which is lovely.

I've got a Thomas, (well tommy) Lewis (lew) and Erin, (DTs) and a Mia.

All 'go' nicely I like to think!

Alice is lovely, too.

Nearly every name will go with Thomas - it's so ubiquitous that most types of name will match it.

Since you've picked a formal name for your son (as opposed to naming him Tom or Tommy on his birth certificate), I think it makes sense to do the same for your daughter - but most of your names you've listed don't conform to that. By and large, you've just listed a lot of nicknames - which would work well if you had a 'just' Tom.

On that basis, I'd pick Eva, Olivia, Lily, Mia, and Summer from your list. I'd probably cross a few off them off it it were my own list for being too popular (in a way that Thomas isn't - Thomas is perenially popular; the girls' names you like have seen more peaks and troughs and are currently riding high). I think you need something a bit less 2012 and a bit more, 'Could have been born at any point in the last 100 years.'

With a name like Thomas, I'd be inclined to pick something equally classic (as I like names to match in styles). For me, that would mean considering names like Alice, Anna, Caroline, Catherine, Charlotte, Eleanor, Elizabeth, Emily, Emma, Leah, Lucy, Rachel, Rebecca, and Sarah. I'd probably add Molly - an 'established' nickname, much like Daisy - to that list too.

Tilly is my fave from your list, but I'd have the full name as Matilda.

Thomas goes with -

Anna
Lucy
Romilly
Josephine (Posy)

What about Naomi

I like Eva, Summer and Georgie (Georgina) from your list.

Thomas has been on my shortlist for a boy a couple of times (never had a boy though!)

My girls are
Natasha
Rebecca
Matilda
Isabella
Abigail

and other girls' names we considered (and I think go with Thomas) were

Amy, Arabella, Charlotte, Felicity, Francesca, Georgina, Hannah, Jessica, Joanna, Katherine, Miranda, Natalie, Sophie, Zara.
