Is Ellyn pronounce like Ellen? If so, be prepared to spell it every time you say it.

Willow is not 'rare' but it does sound nice.

Willow is lovely. I don't know any little Willows.

Ellyn is OK but why not Ellen - is there a reason for the spelling?

Willow is lovely, but a number of celebrities have used it over the last few years. Depends whether that bothers you or not.

I prefer Ellyn to Ellen but again it depends if the constant spelling will bother you or not.

There was a whole thread of wonderful Anglo-Saxon names recently, with some great ones (amongsttose which didn't stand the test of time). I'll try and find it for you.

This is the thread I was thinking of. There's a link within it to a site with a big list of Anglo-Saxon names.

Elfrida for a girl
Eldred for a boy
