Chip, Kipper or Biff?

shushitsonnow · 09/03/2012 15:26

We don't yet know the sex of our next DC, so Biff is obviously for a girl, and Chip or Kipper for a boy?

These seem like good names to me.

Any thoughts?

OhChristFENTON · 09/03/2012 15:28

shushitsonnow · 09/03/2012 15:28

Don't be silly, Floppy's clearly a dog's name!

Why do Wilf and Wilma get real names?

StealthPolarBear · 09/03/2012 15:30

Wasn't biff a man in ekmerdale

ItWasThePenguins · 09/03/2012 15:39

Biff, Chip and Kipper are all male names in my head. (Has been a while since I read the books though).

=D

ABatInBunkFive · 09/03/2012 15:42

I say Key and or Magic.

whippetwoman · 09/03/2012 16:06

My son repeatedly used to read Chip and Kipper as Chipper. I'd go with Chipper if I were you.

legoballoon · 09/03/2012 16:07

Mortlock.

legoballoon · 09/03/2012 16:07

For a girl, obviously.

PopcornMouseInBoots · 09/03/2012 16:41

:o :o :o

Ecgwynn · 09/03/2012 17:02

Topsy and/or Tim?

hippysair · 09/03/2012 17:05

Don't be ridiculous OP! how about Nadim?

PeanutButterChocolate · 09/03/2012 17:05

I actually quite like Chip. It can be a diminutive for Christopher. Kipper is an excellent name...for a dog.

DramaInPyjamas · 09/03/2012 17:10

I know of two elderly ladies with the name Biff. I think real name of one is Margaret and the other Barbara.

It's Barbara in the books, isnt it?

AnEcumenicalMatter · 09/03/2012 17:19

I think you should go with Kipper-Chip for a boy.

welovesausagedogs · 09/03/2012 17:25

Is this a real thread - or some kind of joke about Oxford Reading trees book series, the magic key?????

startail · 09/03/2012 17:39

Not Biff, she was my very irritating first year flat mate. It was short for ElizabethHmm

FilterCoffee · 09/03/2012 19:14

"Is this a real thread - or some kind of joke about Oxford Reading trees book series, the magic key?????"

I'm guessing the second of those Wink

jandymaccomesback · 09/03/2012 19:22

I do hope it's triplets.

oldspeckledtam · 09/03/2012 20:48

They are all inane nickname. In ort, Biff is Barbara, chip is Charles and kipper is Christopher. Obviously.....

tralalala · 09/03/2012 20:54

dad or mum is surely better

Mrsmonkfish · 09/03/2012 21:09

You ARE joking, surely? These are the names of characters from an old reading scheme!!! Bit like calling your kids Janet and John (only worse, at least Janet and John are fairly traditional names in their own right!!)

messagetoyourudy · 09/03/2012 21:23

Don't forget Gran ! A lovely name in it's own right.....

shushitsonnow · 10/03/2012 17:31

Update: it's twins (one of each), so we're going with Peter and Jane and will scour every rescue centre in the land to find a red setter called Pat.

Must say, although I do like Gran, it's DH's name, so it would seem odd, unless we went for Gran Jr.

Mum and Dad are too popular where we live. You hear those names all the time.
