Disclaimer This is not my list - I have just copied and pasted from Babble.com the internet, and I am genuinely surprised at some of the entries!
I agree some of them, IMO are ugly but there are plenty of names that I would class as 'Normal' (whatever that means) but IMO about 90% are names I would never use for my DC, however some have made me chuckle, and most I've never heard of - not sure if it's a piss take...Sausagea for example Confused

Still not sure if La-a is real though... Hmm Blue Ivy on there too.

The article states:

swooosh - Rosie is SO not an ugly name.

fedupofnamechanging · 10/03/2012 16:14

I like Rosie and Delores. Rosie is sweet and Delores makes me picture a very glamorous Spanish woman.

dlady · 10/03/2012 16:27

Some of the names are nice, classic names, Rosie, Edward, Dolores, Arthur. Some are more from my generation, but not too bad in a youngster Philip, Beverley, Sue, Sally. And some are clearly silly and made up La-a, Sausagea Confused, Quanisha, Shaquetta, Shaneekwa. One question, is it pronounced Sausage-a or sausageea? :o

welovesausagedogs · 10/03/2012 16:42

How are Rosie and Arthur ugly names, i know loads of children with these names, they are popular too, so the majority of people must not think they are ugly. Also i was surprised to see Betty on the list, i think that is a pretty name for both women and child.

TheHandThatRocksTheCradle · 10/03/2012 16:50

La-a is an urban myth according to snopes.

I know an Arthur, Edward, Rosie and Howard (Howie) and think they're all fab names! Nothing wrong with a lot of the others IMO.

exoticfruits · 10/03/2012 16:51

Edward and Rosie are lovely names! I don't see how you can call Philip, Sue and some of the others ugly.

WeAllGoALittleCrazySometimes · 10/03/2012 16:58

I was thinking it was Sausage-aya. A little more exotic.

dementedma · 10/03/2012 21:45

DD1 is Rosie and it's a lovely name!

Sockspence · 10/03/2012 21:53

I MUST tell MIL that I'm planning to call DC2 Sausagea. I don't think she's quite buying Rasputin..

Aside from that, most of these names are perfectly lovely, it's all subjective etc. etc.

DreamingOfPeace · 11/03/2012 20:51

I can confirm I have heard of La-a (said la-dasha), from a reliable source, Manchester area. Ridiculous!!!

Rosie and Edward I LOVE though...

BoysBoysBoysAndMe · 12/03/2012 10:40

Betty's on my short list Sad

I think I would boak at sausagea though. That can't be a name. Maybe chipolatea?

mathanxiety · 12/03/2012 16:48

I like Betty and Edward, and weirdly enough Helga and Gene, but the rest I agree with.

AThingInYourLife · 12/03/2012 16:59

BoysBoys

I know b/g twins called Chipolatea and Bangerus.

(not really :o)

BeaMinor · 12/03/2012 20:08

Sausagea?! Not usually one to judge names but I'm in tears laughing!

Rhubarbgarden · 12/03/2012 20:26

Dc2 is going to be Gus. [shrugs].

SnapesMistress · 12/03/2012 21:55
