Anyone else wondering if there is going to be a rise in popularity for the name Elizabeth - partly Jubilee-fuelled...?

We're considering it for a middle name for DD (due just before the Jubliee Bank Holidays) and I've seen quite a few other people discussing it recently - didn't notice it at all last year...

I absolutely love it but my DP doesn't like it. Boo. It's a classic and pretty and I love the shortened name Betty too.

With Elizabeth Taylors passing too I would imagine there will be a resurgence.

it is my mum and sister's first name and my dd's middle name so I like it!

I think it is one of the most beautiful names, I really love it. I would consider it for DD but, DH really does not like it that much.

Great name!

It is my middle name and my mums name- I hate it. My mum gets it shortened to Liz which I really don't like. Libby is nice though, and Beth is ok.

I'll be using Elizabeth as a middle name if a girl. It's a family name on both sides so really straight forward.... be mindful of how it shortens though... Betty, Beth, libby, Liz etc

I like it a lot. I really like Betty, Beth and Lizzy as NNs.
I always thought that Libby was a shortening of Olivia.

You could always use a different spelling... Elisabeth rather than Elizabeth. Europeans spell it that way and so does Elisabeth Murdoch and Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men)

I have a Elizabeth and she is and has always been the only one in both nursery and school.
