Just wondered what people think of Darcy as a girls name?

I like it, she will be intelligent and thoughtful but have a strong independent spirit!

(Although I do automatically assume she will be tall and willowy like a ballerina tooSmile a la Ms Bussell)

Isn't it spelt Darcey for a girl?

SootySweepandSue · 18/02/2012 23:37

I know a lot of redneck Darceys from when I lived elsewhere, sorry.

Ecgwynn · 19/02/2012 15:12

I see her as a bit snotty and snobbish...sorry.

JasperJohns · 19/02/2012 15:17

I'm with Sooty - it's a bit chavvy round these parts.

CroissantNeuf · 19/02/2012 15:18

A right little madam I'm afraid

happyhorse · 19/02/2012 15:27

It's redneck round these parts too I'm afraid. It's actually a pretty name though.

I have a Darcy. She is tall and thin, but absolutely hates dancing. According to her school report she is responsible, kind, thoughtful and intelligent. There was no mention of her ability to get her own way in everything so that is obviously a skill left at home.
She also has a completely amazing sense of humour.

Now the D'arcie I knew was a complete little madam.

helebeth · 19/02/2012 15:50

so sorry but not for me as there are several dogs in the area with that name, However, it is what you think that matters and if you like it that is the most important thing. You will never please everyone. Just as an afterthought have you considered Dulcie - it means sweetness

ahhhhhpushit · 19/02/2012 16:00

Was on our girl's list but spelt Darcey. I like it :

PestoPenguin · 19/02/2012 16:03

Sorry, I agree with Sooty and Jasper Sad. I have the same view irrespective of whether she's a Darcy, Darcey or Darcie.

UnrequitedSkink · 19/02/2012 18:44

Arsey. ;)

I work with two Darceys and they are both little poppets.
