Because I'm not entirely sure. Could anyone help?

Is-old I am surprised by all the variations

Littlefish · 14/02/2012 18:08

Is-OLL-duh

RockinD · 14/02/2012 19:22

In German you pronounce that final syllable, so Is -older. In French, I'm guessing you don't, so it would be Ee - zold?

mathanxiety · 14/02/2012 19:41

Ee-SZOL-deh.

TheParan0idAndr0id · 14/02/2012 22:17

Iz-old. Its a variation of Iseult and wikipedia agrees with my pronounciation!

TheParan0idAndr0id · 14/02/2012 22:18

Actually I think its the german version of the Irish Iseult?

twizzlestix · 15/02/2012 20:08

Is - old

Harecare · 15/02/2012 20:10

Eye - zold. Watch Tristan and Isolde and get pronounciation from there. I'm pretty sure it's eye-zold.

Mrsmonkfish · 15/02/2012 20:53

Ee-sold is more correct,
but people (inc me!!) will prob say Eye-sold-ee

Hmm, both the Isolde's I've met I've pronounced the third syllable (as an a/uh sound)...they were also both Irish, not sure if it's more common there.

German version. I know one pronounced this way. Very heavy and clunky name IMO!

PopcornBiscuit · 16/02/2012 21:34

Iz-OLLD-uh

The French version is Iseult which is quite ugly.
