Baby names - To go with Matilda and Archie

Hi, I am currently pregnant with a baby girl who is due in June. I am looking for names that match my other children's names, there is Matilda who will be 4 in March and Archie who will be 2 in May. Any suggestions for first or middle names or both would be greatly appreciated.

Violet
Clementine
Millicent

Florence is lovely - don't like the nn Flo or Flossie though. Ok my first choice is probs Rosie (still can't get my childhood love for that name out of my head). My husband likes Beatrice (beattie) and Madeline (Maddie) he also like Ivy (but i'm not keen worried it's too popular, with beyonce using it for her daughter).

Does anyone have middle names that could pair with these?????

Suggestions are appreciated - only 3 months till baby arrives and we need a name otherwise we will have to go with Matilda's suggestions of "Barbie", "Belle" or "Princess Pink".

Clementine or India

vitaminC · 13/02/2012 17:53

Florrie is a nicer nickname for Florence :)

I honestly think Rosie is lovely for a little girl, but I would use Rose on the birth certificate, to give her more options later.

Don't use a "filler name" for the middle name - May, Grace, Faith etc! I like longer, flowery names, such as Anastasia or Alexandra.

tildaandarchiesmummy · 13/02/2012 17:54

Oooh i like India, thats very pretty - India Rose Williams could be very pretty or Rosie India Williams sound lovely too. Clementine was on our list for DD1 but my mum was against it as apparently she has a great aunt clem who was the most revolting women. So sadly we can't have Clementine, maybe i will have to use it for one of the pets, because i do like it.

Well on middle names - Matilda is Matilda Cecelia Williams and Archie is Archie Felix Williams, so we like the longer names also, and i would not use names like Grace for a middle name unless i liked them enough to be options for first names.

How about Clematis then ? or Clemency ? Or even Clemencia ? all gorgeous imo

I have an India Rose and an Archie Cuthbert

tildaandarchiesmummy · 13/02/2012 18:05

Clemency is pretty - just not keen on a cy sound prefer the new baby to have either an a ending or ie like Matilda or Archie. Just to let you now our boy choices was Herbie, one we both agreed on , but obviously now that is no relevant.

What about Hebe then ? a variation on Herbie - which is lovely !!

dearjane · 13/02/2012 19:39

I have a Matilda and a Rosie Smile

needabetternickname · 13/02/2012 19:46

Well I have a Matilda and a Beatrice, so think they do go v well together! And everyone else seems to think so too. They are mainly known as Tilly and baby Bea at the moment bit like the fact that they can have grown up names as well as nn. Bea is Beatrice Elizabeth Rose.

areyoumad · 13/02/2012 19:52

Rosie Cordelia Williams
Rosie Anastasia Williams
Rosie Savannah Williams (love this, but would use Savannah as middle if I ever have a baby girl)
Rosie Amelia Williams
Rosie Francesca Williams
Rosie Elizabeth Williams
Rosie Summer Williams
Rosie Felicity Williams

BTW I think Felicity goes fab with Archie and Matilda

Tillyscoutsmum · 13/02/2012 19:56

Poppy
Phoebe

We have a Matilda. Her sister would have been Florence, Beatrice or possibly Tabitha.

I really like Rosie Felicity Williams and Rosie Amelia Williams - they sound so sweet and amelia rhymes with cecelia which is Matilda's middle name. I also think Matilda, Archie and Rosie look nice together as they all have i's in the names and share similar letters.

I will see what hubby thinks, i think it will be between:

Rosie Amelia
Rosie Felicity
Rosie India

Oh yes get in Grin - I love choosing names, just not pregnant yet to pick argue with DH over my own yet.

Although I think it would be Lucy Savannah or Felicity Savannah for DD and Lucas Chase for a boy.

Sorry mini-highjack - just wistful!

Smugfearnleyshittingstool · 13/02/2012 20:21

We have an Archie, I think Ava goes quite nicely with it and Matilda.
Our dd's names don't really go with Archie as we went for less popular girls names. That said there were not many Archies around 8 years ago.

Well done for having a third....they're fab!

debijon11 · 13/02/2012 20:26

Summer
Primrose
Daisy
Lilly

FrankiDon182 · 13/02/2012 20:55

I think your heart is set on Rosie Wink?

ZhenThereWereTwo · 13/02/2012 21:01

Iris?

Itsboywonder · 13/02/2012 21:06

My nan's name was Elsie Violet always thought that would be nice for a girl, also like Xanthe and Scarlett.

tildaandarchiesmummy · 13/02/2012 22:40

Yeah i think my heart is set on Rosie, I just think Matilda and Rosie sound like nice names for sisters and i think Rosie just has that little sister sound to it which i love. I also think that when our children are adults with all the Chloe's Lily's Ella's Gracie's and Rosie's, a name like Rosie won't sound childish because all the adults of that generation will have those sort of names. You never know perhaps there children will be called things like Peter, Denise, Jackie and Pauline. Because all the popular names today are derived from victorian names, like Archibald, Hector, Lillian, Elizabeth. Just spoke to Hubby about the name thing and he is really keen on Rosie India Williams, so it looks like it will be, Matilda Cecelia Williams, Archie Felix Williams and Rosie India Williams.
