We were fine with no 1 child, a little at odds with no2 child now with no3 I am wanting to smother hubby in his sleep.
He wants a Kings name- pref. a British king ( he had to narrow it down because of suggestions of Napoleon- even Martin Luther was rejected lol...surprisingly also King Cnut...can't understand it. Unfortunately his sisters have taken the "good" names- Henry, James, Edward and William... I am left with George, which is OK, but I am not convinced. Alfred and Arthur are definite no's!
He did say Charles- however I doubt he will ever make it to the crown bahahahah.
I prefer biblical names such as Noah, Jacob, Samuel, Daniel, Saul....
Hubby is Irish/Scottish/Polish and English in mix- I am Irish/antipodean in decent.. any Ideas that may reach a happy medium! ( not sure if Its a boy yet, but have already sorted a girls name :)- basically all the leftover list of the first 2! LOL

Rafferty
Sebastian
Nathaniel
Albert
Philip
Mark
Shay
Brendan
Arthur
Aidan
Haydn
Donal

You could try a Scottish King's name, which expands the list to include Kenneth, Donald, Constantine, Malcolm, Dub/Duff, Duncan, Macbeth (perhaps not), Edgar, Alexander, David, and Robert.

On a similar note, I googled for Polish kings, and the readily pronounceable ones are:

Casimir, Lech (perhaps not!), Theodorick, Henryk, Konrad, Wenceslaus, Louis, John, Alexander, Sigismund, Maksymilian, Stefan, Jan, August, Nicholas, Joseph, Leopold, Francis, Charles, Frederick, William.

And here's a wiki link to pages of Irish kings.

Ecgwynn · 13/02/2012 11:22

Aethelstan- the first king of all England.

Psammead · 13/02/2012 13:34

Solomon? Fits both requirements.

Psammead · 13/02/2012 13:38

Or, you know, Herod... [unhelpful]

Clareypen · 20/02/2012 20:17

ooh fantasitc ideas thanks ladies. I think he has convinced me with George...maybe lol, however a friend of ours kindly pointed out that at my husbands age and the fact that he has had 3 girls we have a 1 in 10 chance of having a boy! I suspect he might be right!!! fingers crossed for April!!

James - fits king and Bible. Sorry just noticed it's gone. Louis? not British though is ti?

Donald, Malcom, David (again fits both) Alexander, Robert

George is a fabulous name! [although I may be slightly biased as I have a gorgeous 15 month old George who suits his name perfectly]

Clareypen · 26/02/2012 15:17

I was having a conversation with a man on Saturday last week who managed to convince as both a democract and a royalist that George was the name to go with, he spoke very highly of King George lol, in fact would not shut up!!
Emmylou what do you call him as a nickname I am shocking at shortening or even elongating peoples names
