Does the name Beatrice sound ok with our surname which is Bell?I'm thinking particularly if her name gets shortened to Bea, which I'm sure it will. Your opinions - whatever they are are - are much appreciated. Thanks all.

Isn't Trixie also a nn?

GlaikitFizzog · 09/02/2012 15:45

I like alliteration so I think it sounds lovely! There are others on here who disagree with me though. I would go for it!

Well, I know a Bill Bell(any relation?), Mo Morris, and a Joe Jones. Once it's someones name it's less of an issue I think. You could call her something that doesn't commonly shorten to Bea (Phoebe, Belinda, Libby, Brona) but thats what she gets called when she is older. My friend gets know by her initial. I really don't think it's a issue

PopcornBiscuit · 09/02/2012 16:44

Doesn't work, sorry.

How about

Naomi Bell
Catherine Bell
Emily Bell
Georgina Bell
Louisa Bell

diddl · 09/02/2012 16:48

I don´t like it.

jaffacakehips · 09/02/2012 17:20

I like alliteration in names..but Bea Bell sounds like a cheese to me! Sorry.

I do really love the name Beatrice too.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 09/02/2012 17:21

Personally I don't like alliteration and Bea Bell just doesn't sound good. Realise though this is a personal choice and it's not my baby Smile.

One voice, singing in the darkness, One voooiiiiiiiccccceeeee ................

WowOoo · 09/02/2012 17:26

It does have quite a ring to it, but I wouldn't go for that combo myself.

GlaikitFizzog · 09/02/2012 17:28

There is a Bea Bell on FB. She looks about 80 and lives in North Carolina!

Nospringflower · 09/02/2012 17:35

Beatrice Bell sounds good and although I might not choose it, I think Bea Bell is ok.

LittlePandaBear · 09/02/2012 19:57

Bea Bell's wobble but they don't fall down (sorry!)

Littlecherublegs · 09/02/2012 22:15

Dont think it would work, sorry!

HeidiHole · 09/02/2012 22:35

Beatrice Bell you can get away with

Bea Bell... Christ no! can you not hear yourself when you say it? Ridiculous!

sloppyjoe · 09/02/2012 22:49

Beattie Bell???

KikiRC · 10/02/2012 11:41

If you really love Bea (which I think is a very sweet name) & don't want to give it up could you consider using your maiden name as well as your married for the surname, so it was Bea (whatever)-Bell? Just a thought.

LaTristesse · 10/02/2012 21:11

Is Bea pronounced Bee-a or just Bee?

I don't think I'm a fan of alliteration myself...

Wizbangwallop · 11/02/2012 00:41

When you said Beatrice Bell I automatically thought her nickname would be BB, not Bea. (I knew a Cecilia who was always known as CC). BB Bell sounds cool to me! I say goferit.
Other possible nns; Bertie (she might be a tomboy!), Trish, Sissy??
My cousin's a Bell, and she really wanted to have a Madeleine, but had three boys so meh...

annh · 11/02/2012 00:46

Sorry I don't like it, Bea Bell is ok-ish (although kids will probably call her Be A Bell) but I don't like Bea (pronounced Bee) Bell or BB Bell.

Tinsie · 11/02/2012 01:09

No, no likey, sorry Blush

Smurfy1 · 11/02/2012 01:25

I like it

I know some1 that called his son Connor O`Connor and I went to school with a guy called Owen Keeowen Both should never have been paired together

EllenParsons · 11/02/2012 04:06

Beatrice Bell is alright but Bea Bell or Trixie Bell a bit much. I do really like Beatrice as a name though.

FloydieDoydie · 11/02/2012 06:58

Sorry but " Bells wobble but they don't fall down" make me snort out loud Grin
