Which would you choose?

Eg
Fruit: Plum
Plant: Ivy
Bird: Wren

Sensible(ish) answers appreciated.

Cherry

Rose or daisy

Raven the nicest of the bird names but i don't really like any of them, and Raven wouldn't suit a blonde.

AngiBolen · 23/01/2012 23:05

Clementine
Daisy
Phoebe

noddyholder · 23/01/2012 23:07

Cerise
Peony
Swallow

joanofarchitrave · 23/01/2012 23:40

Wow. Much as I love the sound of the word, i would not call a girl Swallow. I love Cerise though.

GrimmaTheNome · 24/01/2012 00:03

Pippin
Rose
Booby Bustard Gannet Flamingo Loon Cuckoo ... dammit all there must be something ... ah, I think I've thought of one that actually might work as a girl's name (most of the ones so far are fails) - Serin.

startail · 24/01/2012 00:28

Victoria (plum)
Bryony
Raven
She'd need to be born with a head of dark hair to get away with Raven. (and Vicki, but that's because the Victoria I knew had long very dark hair).

FreddieMercurysBolero · 24/01/2012 00:32

Fruit: Pamplemousse - my favourite ever French word.
Plant: Clover
Bird: Eanìn (Irish for wren)

SilentBoob · 24/01/2012 05:40

I LOVE that Persimmon has made a couple of appearances. You all roared with laughter when I suggested it a few months back.

Wren makes me think of Ren and Stimpy.

Can't do Raven - she'll likely be very blonde.

I do like Ivy but it's just been Beyonced.

Some of these bird ones are making me laugh. It's hard to come up with a good bird name.

And to clarify - she won't be Fruit Bird Plant Surname. She'll have one fruit / bird / plant name and then an ordinary middle name.

Seems an odd way to choose a name to me. Linnet is lovely, but mostly because it reminds me of the Linnet in Green Knowe, I don't actually associate it with a bird. Clementines were apparently named after a Clement, but I guess that's like knowing Mercedes was a girl's name before the car, it's still the car you think of first.

CheerfulYank · 24/01/2012 06:06

Fruit: Clementine, Mirabelle, or Pomeline

Bird: Lark, Wren, or Phoebe

Plant: Primrose, Maple, or Camellia

IamAnnaBanana · 24/01/2012 06:16

Kiwi
Weeeed (as in the Flowerpot men)
Kiwi

SilentBoob · 24/01/2012 06:17

Oooh what's a better way to choose a baby name Nooka? All tips gladly taken - we're really struggling with girls names :)

Thumbwitch · 24/01/2012 06:24

Physalis
Delphine
Rosella (it's a beautiful parakeet type Aussie bird)

MadeInChinaBaby · 24/01/2012 07:24

Passion Fruit
Deadly Nightshade
Common Wintering Mallard

MadeInChinaBaby · 24/01/2012 08:24

Or you could go biblical:
Fruit of Our Loins
Burning Bush
Bird of Peace.

Lancelottie · 24/01/2012 13:42

If we're going all Latin on the bird names:
Mavis

or Peregrine, Piper, Polly?

fanjodisfunction · 24/01/2012 15:25

Ok been doing a little search (instead of doing work) so sorry if the list is long but these names sound good to my ear.

Fruit- Juniper, Bramble, Olive, Pina, Raisin, Rosella, Tamarin

Plant- Willow, Hazel, Aspen, Bryony, Camelia, Orchid, Ada, Nigella

Bird- Wren, Robin, Linnet, Dove, Raven, Teal, Sparrow, Mistle, Siskin, Nene, Eider, Harlequin

GrimmaTheNome · 24/01/2012 15:41

Eider ducks are lovely, but if you've ever heard one (well, an eider drake to be accurate) you couldn't possibly use it as a child's name.

Cue Frankie Howerd impersonations... Grin

shouldnotbehere · 24/01/2012 16:26

Olive
Holly
Robyn
