Does anyone have any great Valentines/love related names for babies born on Feb 14th?
And would you use one should your baby happen to arrive on that date?

Oh no, naffola

Kellamity · 19/01/2012 19:23

DD was born on VDay but we didn't use the opportunity! Maybe we missed something there!

Sirzy · 19/01/2012 19:24

What fuckity said.

I just don't think baby cupid would work!

I won a competition once about the fact DD was born on VD. We were asked to describe our best and worst VDs. Obviously the best was the day she was born and the worst was the day of the competition as I was organising a birthday party for 25 4 year olds while DH was away in hot sandy places (RAF). I won a pamper day in a very posh hotel! Grin

Valentina? ;)

JestersHat · 19/01/2012 22:04

Don't listen to the nay-sayers! It's a lovely idea and who cares if some people think it's naff?

Adonia (goddess of love)
Freya (goddess of love and fertility)
Carys (meaning love)
Juliet (Romeo & Juliet)

Loveday? I think it's a Cornish name, and 'The Little White Horse' was my favourite book for a long time as a child.

Mrswhiteinthekitchen · 19/01/2012 22:10

Ooh I couldn't resist and would definitely sneak in something like "Valentine" as a middle name for a girl.

Mi4 · 19/01/2012 22:10

Kerenza - Cornish version of Carys meaning love - I think!

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 19/01/2012 22:29

My birthday is on Valentine's Day. I will be forever grateful that my parents did not call me Valentina or something like that. I'm sorry, it just seems deeply naff.

yelnats · 19/01/2012 22:43

DD2 was due on valentines day, I was so glad she was born on the 15th. Didn't want her only getting one pressie to cover the two as an adult. Wouldn't have considered a Valentine related name though.

manicinsomniac · 19/01/2012 23:57

As a St Patrick's Day baby who narrowly escaped being called Patricia I beg you to avoid Valentina!

Go with one of the more subtle options above if you must.

Raphael

Aimee

I was born on valentines day. Luckily my parents had already planned a name which was unrelated to the day. You could always go with Ruby or Scarlett, as it is a very red day decorations wise.

Kveta · 20/01/2012 11:56

and yelnats my DH wouldn't DARE get me one card for both days, but then his birthday is the same week, and when I asked if HE would like 1 card for both days, he got the hint :o

TimothyClaypoleLover · 20/01/2012 11:56

Rose?

TimothyClaypoleLover · 20/01/2012 11:56

Romeo for a boy?

persephoneplum · 20/01/2012 12:12

I had a son on Valentine's Day and called him Felix - nothing to do with the day really. I don't think it would be too terrible though as Valentino/Valentina are great names :)

TheGrandOldDuke · 20/01/2012 13:01

Mr Lover-Lover?

yelnats · 20/01/2012 14:36

Lol Kyveta. My dd is a strong willed girl so I'm sure if she has been born on valentines day she would've made sure she never got only one card etc.

Cara is beloved in Italian and friend in Irish, I think that's nice, I'ld consider Cara

agora1 · 20/01/2012 17:42

I think as long as it isn't too obvious e.g. Valentina that it's a lovely idea. I would go with Carys or Cerys.

pilates · 20/01/2012 18:41

Valentine for a boy (I had a distant relative who had this name and was born on Valentines Day) and Valentina for a girl.

I think it could work quite well.

Clawdy · 20/01/2012 20:25

Know a gorgeous little boy with Valentino as middle name, parents now wish they had used it as first name...Tino for short.
