love! sadly DH doesn't

BroomBuBuBum · 13/12/2011 16:40

Like but don't love it

GrownUpBelievesInSanta · 13/12/2011 16:41

Lovely name.

PercyFilth · 13/12/2011 16:41

Loathe. Sounds like a twee pixie.

Secondtimelucky · 13/12/2011 16:44

Bit indifferent. It of course means Ireland, so despite many people thinking of it as an Irish name, a lot of Irish people themselves wouldn't (if that bothers you) and would consider it like calling your child India or Chelsea.

AnotherMincepie · 13/12/2011 17:09

I don't like it, sorry.

Marenostrum · 13/12/2011 17:35

Like it, strong name.

bubblebubblebubblepop · 13/12/2011 17:38

Like Smile

3isamagicnumber · 13/12/2011 20:53

Like - though wouldnt use it myself.

cookielove · 13/12/2011 20:57

Love it, however its my sister in laws name so probably wouldn't use it, that paired with the fact that my favorite name ever is Evie, and i really can't have children called Erin and Evie Grin

othersideofchannel · 13/12/2011 21:18

I don't like it personally but I like the fact that isn't already overused and makes a nice change from all the Evies/Ellas round here.

GirlWithALlamaTattoo · 13/12/2011 21:26

DP's friend has daughters called Erin and Evie!

I like Erin. An old friend went out with one. She was very beautiful and successful.

cookielove · 13/12/2011 21:28

Oh whoops, well i do really like the names GirlWithA, Blush

hohohoshedittant · 13/12/2011 23:43

Indifferent, but it's really popular here and that would out me off

Oubliette0292 · 13/12/2011 23:47

If you're going to do it be careful with the middle name - I know an Erin India which sounds like the name an airline to me (but still isn't as bad as the poor child I know called Kitty Hope which is surely either a cat charity or the name of a porn star).

CointreauVersial · 14/12/2011 00:02

Love it, love it, love it, always have done, and it's DD1's name. She's 10 and loves it too.

Easy to spell, can't be shortened, uncommon but not "odd", sounds pretty (to me).

DH is Irish, so the meaning "Ireland" was an added bonus (although it is rarely used in Ireland).

She's Erin Ann. I first thought about Erin Eve, but that sounded rubbish.

SlinkingOutsideInSocks · 14/12/2011 01:25

Very indifferent.

perfumedlife · 14/12/2011 01:31

Not keen but only because I've yet to meet an Erin I've liked. It is a nice name, but meeting unpleansant folk can put you off thier name I think.

Same with Ryan, never met a Ryan I've liked. Xmas Confused

lazylula · 14/12/2011 01:34

Love it, I have an Erin though so biased!

TaffyandTeenyTaffy · 14/12/2011 01:38

Lovely name, but DSs first (and I hope last!) gf is (a very lovely!) erin so may be a tad biased!

Offspring · 14/12/2011 02:46

LOVE it. It was on our list (although had a DS), and is also my lovely DSis name. She's an Erin Kathleen.

two4one · 14/12/2011 02:55

Like it - I imagine all Erins to be beautiful. I would be really disappointed to meet an ugly one.

survivingwinter · 14/12/2011 20:15

Quite like it - getting more popular but that may not be an issue (just shows lots of people like it really!)

guinealady · 14/12/2011 22:37

I once met a girl called Erin Ireland! True story!

Presumably she had had people say to her many many times 'you know your name means Ireland Ireland?' but she was a very nice and chilled out person so I imagine she had dealt with all the jokes...

kerala · 15/12/2011 17:55

Loathe would be abit strong but I think its inexplicably popular. Not an attractive sound at all quite an ugly sounding word. There are millions of nicer names.
