Love it. And I never say that here.

MudAndGlitter · 12/12/2011 20:36

DD is Alexandra Elise so I love it Grin

suebfg · 12/12/2011 20:37

Very pretty

PelvicFloorOfHighTensileTinsel · 12/12/2011 20:37

I think it's a lovely name (I'm biased as DS's best friend is one). Gorgeous and not too drastically popular - I wouldn't expect more than 1 in a class.

GoodQueenMsInterpret · 12/12/2011 20:37

Really like it.

Have heard it being used for a couple of babies round these parts recently. Not that that's a reason not to use it!

I really like it. Very pretty.

Bloodyhellthathurts · 12/12/2011 20:38

I absolutely love it - too close to my dsd's name or I'd have nabbed it for my dd Envy

AnotherMincepie · 12/12/2011 22:34

A bit wishy-washy, sorry.

Love it. Big Cure fan. Oh, Elise, it doesn't matter what you say...

minciepie · 13/12/2011 15:33

Love this name. In fact I am torn between Elise and Eloise as my favourite girl's name.

Only issue I have is, it shortens to Ella/Ellie, and there are so many of those...

But I suppose you could call her Lise, Lisette, Lizzie for short instead?

HenriettaFarthingay · 13/12/2011 15:37

Elise is a beautiful name. I am a little biased, as the most beautiful little girl in the world (my wonderful granddaughter, and if my daughter pops on here she'll know exactly who I am) is called Elise.

PelvicFloorOfHighTensileTinsel · 13/12/2011 19:28

IMO Elise really doesn't need to be shortened so it doesn't matter that the shortenings aren't so great. It's not a very long name and the one I know just gets called Elise, no abbreviation.

humblehippo · 13/12/2011 20:31

I don't think it needs shortening but I don't think I would like people calling her Ellie (no offence to mums of Ellies but for my taste its too popular). I also really like Elsa which is quite similar and I kind of like Eloise but I have come across quite a few Elsas and Eloises recently, versus no Elises.

I know one, aged 10, and it's never shortened. It's a lovely name.
