DS has arrived - Corin, Bay, Bruno or something completely different?

Yesterday morning DS2 made his appearance into the world and he is completely gorgeous :o However we do need an equally gorgeous name for him! So far we were thinking either Corin, Bay or Bruno with possible middle names Felix, Finton or Cassius (or they could be first names Hmm)...
Or something completely different? Suggestions of similar names would be great, we really don't have the energy to be trawling through name books! Oh and it has to go with first two DC Jeremiah Henry and Saskia Austen :)

Oh dear. Well prepare yourself for playground teasing and parental scorn. I mean, really. Why would you look at that tiny beautiful little thing and set them up for that........

FriggsFlyingFalconFeathers · 01/12/2011 00:09

it's lovely,congratulationsSmile

MelinaM · 01/12/2011 01:14

Bay Cassius is perfect, congratulationsSmile

IHeartKingThistle · 01/12/2011 01:29

Bay Cassius is fab.

ImNotAnsweringIt · 01/12/2011 01:37

Yay! I fought hard for 'Bay' for ds2 but dh wasn't keen. I love it. Unusual, understated and timeless. Reminds me of the sea or a shiney brown horse; what's not to like!

Congratulations OP!

CheerfulYank · 01/12/2011 01:46

I think it's nice. Congrats on your new baby! :)

lisaro, the deed is done now but why would Bay lead to teasing?

Er... 'cos it's a ridiculous name. Ok, this is mumsnet. lots of people will cuddle you and say it's ok. Real life, Veggie. Wake up, smell the roses.

CheerfulYank · 02/12/2011 01:46

It's fine, OP. Ignore some people.

Jezabelle · 02/12/2011 06:54

Bay was my first choice for first name (see above). Is that why you picked it? [girn]

It's gorgeous.

Ignore posters who are clearly having a bad day and trying to pick a fight. Rise above it!

Jezabelle · 02/12/2011 06:55

girn??? Obviously I meant Grin!

hulabula · 02/12/2011 09:12

Welcome, Bay! What is there not to like about Bay - it is a lovely, classic name that isn't overused.

lisaro, I hope you teach your children to be more tolerant than yourself Smile.

PercyFilth · 02/12/2011 10:20

A classic name? Really? I can't call to mind anyone at all with that name. I've done a fair bit of family and local history research so am well acquainted with the birth indexes and parish registers, but I haven't seen any Bays.

lisaro · 02/12/2011 13:17

I am tolerant, but unfortunately, most people aren't It Is ridiculous, but I wouldn't tease the poor child saddled with it. However, isome will.

brandysoakedbitch · 02/12/2011 13:23

Well we can't all have Jacks and Tobys and Callums can we?

ffs

say something nice or not at all eh? this is someone's child and always seems to me to be so mean so say that to someone.

Imps7 · 02/12/2011 13:27

My parents are friends with a Bay who must be in his mid-60s/early 70s. He is a fine upstanding gentleman!

Congrats OP, I really like the name. Enjoy your new son!

brandysoakedbitch · 02/12/2011 13:32

I think it one of those names that may not be a classic in the sense it is well used but has a classic air to it

and yes OP great name and enjoy your boy

(my kids have far more teaseable names than your (according to the 'enlightened' on this tread) and have never been teased)

PercyFilth · 02/12/2011 14:06

It just makes me think of things like Baywatch, Bay City Rollers, ebay .... Sorry. Hmm

Imps7 · 02/12/2011 14:10

Oh well Percy, I wouldn't let it worry you.

PercyFilth · 02/12/2011 15:11

Fear not, I have forgotten about it already Smile There'll be another one along in a minute :o

AlmaWalkingInAWinterWonderland · 02/12/2011 15:34

Lovely name OP :)

hulabula · 02/12/2011 15:39

I know a lovely Bayard, whose nickname is Bay, so to me it does sound like a 'classic' name.

lisaro, do you really think that you're being tolerant when telling someone that their (existing) child's name is 'ridiculous'?

Thanks for your concerns, Lisaro and Percy. I know Bay isn't exactly a top 10 name but what exactly is teasable about it? I can't think of any connatations that kids would pick up on, unfortunate nn's etc? Surely a little boy called William could be teased because of their name?
