It's a no from me.

MitziKinsky · 12/11/2011 19:35

Not for a girl.

scaevola · 12/11/2011 19:37

It's a boys name.

I have one elderly relative with the name, and have always thought it's a great name. But not for a girl.

MercyDulbottle · 12/11/2011 19:38

I hope your surname is not Hunt.

Mousesmummy · 12/11/2011 19:38

She likes it for a boy too just wanted opinions - for a boy good then?

CSI. Warwick Brown.

Towndon · 12/11/2011 20:37

Place name first and foremost.

Pocket1 · 12/11/2011 20:40

I love it for a Boy. just asked my DP if he liked the name Chester - he didn't like it as its the name of a City. But i like Warwick and Chester as boys names Smile

TidyDancer · 12/11/2011 21:02

Hideous for a girl. Not great for a boy either though. I think it's one of those older names that's not quite ready to come back....

MelinaM · 13/11/2011 03:04

No, no and NO!!! Dione Warwick springs to mind for me, very surnamey indeed!

FairyArmadillo · 13/11/2011 10:18

Not for a girl. Reminds me of CSI.

lisaro · 15/11/2011 01:35

Why on earth would you consider doing hat to an innocent baby? Get a grip.

EdithWeston · 15/11/2011 04:48

That's a bit strong, lisaro. Lots of names move between the sexes.

I like this name for a boy, and wouldn't like it on a girl.

LeoTheLateBloomer · 15/11/2011 07:08

Wouldn't everyone just assume that was where she/he was conceived?

I used to work for a family business with sons named Chester, Hertford and Witney after their places of conception. I suppose they just have to be relieved they hadn't been in Skegness Grin

nordiccamper · 15/11/2011 07:21

Warwick is a great name for a boy. It was on our list. I've only met two men named it in my life and thought it a rather masculine name.

Personally i wouldn't associate it with the town at all.

MotherOfHobbit · 15/11/2011 07:26

I like it. It's original.

halecromp · 15/11/2011 09:08

I think it's ok for a boy but not for a girl x

birdofthenorth · 15/11/2011 10:14

I had a great uncle Warwick. Such a thick Cornish accent everyone in the family joked we could never understand a word he said. So hard for me to imagine it on a baby girl, sorry!

Thanks all - they have a old relative with the name within the family and the place, (whilst not conception) is of significant importance to them both - I love it for a boy personally, not for a girl

I love Warwick for a boy, and would put it on our list, apart from the fact that I will be having the baby at Warwick (though maybe they would give me a private room and be extra nice to me in that case?), and DH and I met at Warwick uni!!! I would assume any Warwicks were boys not girls, and wouldn't choose it for a girl.

BarbarianMum · 15/11/2011 16:36

It's a great boy's name Smile.

tallulah · 15/11/2011 17:14

I was going to name DS3 Warwick but DH vetoed it at the last minute :(

Definitely not a girl's name.

Mousesmummy · 15/11/2011 18:17

Catsycat we all went to uni there too Smile 92-96
