Old fashioned/ slightly unusual girls names

We've been thinking about names. Seem to be able to think of more boys names than girls.

We already have 2 boys and don't know the sex of the baby I'm carrying yet but want to make a bit of a list of ideas for girls names.

Names for girls I have liked in the past are:
Lilly
Evie
Iris

We tend to like old fashioned or slightly unusual names that aren't too long. Gone off Lilly and Evie a bit as they've become quite popular now. Have a niece called Isla too so not sure if that's too close to Iris...

Our sons are called Dylan and Miles.

Any ideas?

I really like Hester... Bookmarked should we ever have a third (and a girl!).
Edith, Agatha, Iris, Sybil, Ariadne, Mabel??, Elsa, or plain names like Mary, June, Jane, Anna/e...

Ooh,hope Maggie isn't going to get popular now! Lots of lovely names there, I will be keeping a few in mind for our next, if we ever have one and if it's a girl!

Rose
Heather
Beatrice
Sage

I keep posting Beatrice on baby girl names threads in the vain hope that someone will use it.... I'm on a Beatrice campaign! Mainly so I can live vicariously as I wasn't allowed to use that name for mine!

Ah-ha did NOT read post properly did I? Retract Dorothea, unless you would like a sunday name for birth cert

kerala · 17/11/2011 21:01

Please dont pick Eve/Evie it is insanely insanely popular. One third of the girls in DDs class are called Eve or a variant of Eve.

Mercy is an old-fashioned 'virtue' name. I'm surprised it hasn't caught on like Grace. Not as 'buttoned-up' sounding as Constance, Prudence etc.
