Esha, Yasmin, Jasmin, Saffron..can't think of any others! I don't know how to explain but I think a gemstone name would be the best way to put it - something like Ruby, Sapphire, Amber, Jade, Topaz etc or a colour name like Scarlett. Congratulations on your little girl!

Ananda. Or Anandi. Both versions of a Sanskrit word meaning "bliss".

Andshana. Alternately spelled Andjana. Read it in a book as a child.

My name is on one of the lists someone posted above :)

DP has a friend called Indira. I would love to call any future daughter of ours that, however he's vetoed it on the basis that neither of us have any Indian connection! So, I'll suggest it to you.

Congratulations Smile

just thought of another few... Elora, Radha, Uma, Henna

TidyDancer · 06/11/2011 19:34

Congratulations! Zahara was the first name that sprung to mind for me. Not because of the Jolie-Pitt connection though, I know a beautiful little girl with that name.

An Indian colleague, though married to another Indian, wanted to have a name that would fit both cultures. He went for Nikita which I think is lively.
