Yes Clara here too. Or Lara like us!

CurwySwide · 02/11/2011 13:36

Clara then Seren

mamaesi · 02/11/2011 20:23

sorry but klara with a k because of norwegian and dutch family.

is sophia that popular? how many do you know?

funny no one likes elle... i also like ella but feel there are too many at the moment, also like eva, but again afraid of popularity

is seren ok even though not welsh at all?

I like Clara and Estella
I don't like Nina or Zara

CaipirinhasAllRound · 02/11/2011 20:31

sorry, just seen your post
I like Klara not Clara!

LikeACandleButNotQuite · 02/11/2011 20:33

Nina

or

Veda

MerryMarigold · 02/11/2011 20:38

There's a Barbie film with a Princess Sophia (Princess Charm School, which dd made me watch today). Is that enough to put you off it? Grin

akaemmafrost · 02/11/2011 20:38

Estelle not Estella, but that is my favourite of your names, it was of my girls choices for both dc, had a ds first time and then went with something else with dd. If I ever had another girl it would definitely be Estelle or Esme, another name I love.

Sorry not that keen on any of your others tbh.

catwithflowers · 02/11/2011 20:40

Often call my daughter Elle. Her real name is Eleanor

MardyBra · 02/11/2011 20:41

klara - prefer clara
elle - have an aversion to single syllable names.
nina - lovely
seren - not sure
estella - lovely
sophia - nice
zara - OK.

My favourite is Estella.

Klara

(I'm in NL) Sophia / Sophie / Sofie has been in the top 5 or 10 for years here. It's beautiful but very popular.

The Dutch will pronounce Elle "Ella". Eve becomes "Eva" to the ear. Will pronounce the 'e' (with an 'A' like sound) at the end of all ...elle names too. Caused no end of confusion trying to name DD.

Lotte? Love that, Or would it be "lott" in English? Confused

Nadia?

MardyBra · 02/11/2011 20:42

Now read back and seen the K connection on Klara so ignore previous comment.

Wormshuffler · 02/11/2011 20:44

Elle
or Zara

BelleStar · 02/11/2011 20:46

Clara is a good name...I'm Clara! When I was a (not very) cool 13 year old I tried the Klara spelling for a while!

I also like Elle.

Have you considered Celeste? It's similar (in my mind) to the others on your list.

catwithflowers · 02/11/2011 21:02

Love Lotte. Agree, Sophie/Sophia VERY popular in NL. Have taught a lovely Klara (Swedish) and have loved Clara since reading Heidi when little Smile

baskingseals · 02/11/2011 21:07

Nina

proudfoot · 02/11/2011 23:23

I really like Clara, Nina, Sophia and Zara. Not sure which one of those I would choose but you could keep a shortlist anyway and see which one she looks like if you can't narrow down to 1.

chocoroo · 03/11/2011 08:27

Klara will definitely work for you then.

I know 4 Sophie's and 5 Sophia's under 5. It's not that it's not a lovely name, but I'd dismiss it on that basis.

Spoutlet · 03/11/2011 10:25

I like Klara and Nina.

Also, have you thought of using Ellen instead of Elle; Elle or Ella work as a nn if you like it?

pilates · 03/11/2011 12:04

Clara like - Klara - dislike

Sophia and Zara are nice names.

reallacecurtains · 04/11/2011 05:58

Seren

BebeBelge · 04/11/2011 06:06

Nina. Then Zara. HATE Seren. Sorry!
