four in a class - really?

I've noticed on here that many people seem to dread the possibility that their child may be one of 'four or five' in a class. Just thinking about this when my friend showed me the list for her dd's reception class intake the other day. Of thirty children there were only two names replicated, each with two children with the name (one of these being Ruby, which was the most popular name for the year anyway). When I was at primary school in the seventies when there were probably fewer names used overall there was only one duplicated name in a class of 20 girls (Claire). So, just out of interest, what names are there more than one of in your dc's classes and are there often '4 or 5' of one name or is this actually an extremely rare occurrence?!

In fact, out of that list two of the Mias, one Leah and Thea are still in her class 4 years later. (one Mia has gone to private school and one Leah has moved away)

My DD has 3 Rhys's, 2 Joshua's and 2 Dylan's. There's only 8 girls in the year and none of them are replicated. DS has 4 Rhys's, 2 Dylan's, 2 Faye's. Add that to there is a Seren and Lucy in every school year. Considering DD and DS both have 'common names' there are no others in the school x

There were four of us Willbeans in my form at secondary school.

I think even having 2 of the same name is a shame and not so nice for the children (or me, if it was me growning up, which sometimes it was!). It's lovely to be the only one!

I was one of 4 at one stage, never bothered me at all. DC's have fairly common classic names but it wasn't until secondary that there was more than one in the class and they are really not bothered by it either.

Funny people mentioning all the catherines (and variations) in 1970 / 1980s classrooms. I've only ever been the only one. Lots of joannes / karens / lisas though ...
