Middle name for Sienna???

louby86 · 09/10/2011 09:51

We have agreed now after finding out we are having a little girl that we are going to call her Sienna. My husband would like her middle name to be Louise but I'd like to think about what other possibilities there are first if you can help me out? Thanks

um, "what other possibilities"? Well, any other name you've ever heard?

louby86 · 09/10/2011 09:55

We're struggling because of our last name sounding like 'may' so it makes a lot of names sound really wrong, sorry, should have explained that first

Might you want to continue the colour theme:

Ruby, Scarlett, Lilac, Bianca?

Or place names:

Florence, Shirley, Kimberley, Chelsea, Brooklyn, Madison, Bethany?

How about Rose? I love the name Sienna it's gorgeous!

louby86 · 09/10/2011 10:19

Ooo Rose sounds lovely, that's going on my list. I like Scarlett too but don't think my husband will go for it! Thanks

I think Sienna Rose is lovely, but Rose is a bit of a 'filler' middle name to me- 20 or 30 years ago, everyone's middle names were Louise, Elizabeth or Marie. These days, Rose, Grace and May seem to be the 'fall-back' names that everyone picks.

How about Sienna Charlotte? Sienna Faith? Sienna Iris?

scarlettlips · 09/10/2011 13:05

Sienna is a gorgeous name - its pretty, feminine and yet strong enough to see a child through to her adult professional life. Good choice Smile

Sienna Catherine or
Sienna Kate
Sienna Mary
Sienna Jessica
Sienna Poppy
Sienna Imogen
Sienna Louisa
Sienna Charlotte
Sienna Marina
Sienna Elizabeth

Any good or way off?

scarlettlips · 09/10/2011 13:06

Would you have 2 middle names?

Sienna Charlotte Louise or Sienna Imogen Louise

Thank you guys, some lovely suggestions, and thanks for the lovely comments about the name. Off to discuss these with my husband, I'll be back later Smile

Hi! Personally, (and it's just my opinion :)) with a 3 syllable first name, I think a middle name of just one syllable sounds best. We have a Siena too, (though spell it after the Italian city, with one N rather than two.) We named her Siena Niamh (pronounced Neve :)) and love it! (We love alot of the Irish names spelt the traditional Irish way!)
Rose is also nice as a middle name too and goes well with Sienna, (we just wanted something a bit different.) Would've said Mae too, (that's my other Daughters middle name,) but you said your surname rhymes with May so obviously that's out the question!
Kate? Eve? Grace? Fleur? Paige?
Good luck! Let us know what you decide :)

I adore Sienna. How about Magdalena?

onwardandupwards · 13/10/2011 15:00

I went with Anntoinnette as my daughters middle name bad idea as she cannot spell it (shes 11) i should of stuck to Lilly or Rose, although i love the name Darcy!

louby86 · 13/10/2011 15:22

We both really like Sienna Rose at the minute but know a lot of babies with Rose as a middle name so we're seeing if anything else catches our eye. I like quite a few of the names suggested here, it's just my awkward husband Smile

jkklpu - I think you have misunderstood the reason for this section of the forum - it is to get recommendations, suggestions, advice and thoughts on baby names! Your response really doesn't seem like much help to me!

Louby - I also really like Rose for a middle name and did consider using it but as someone mentions above, it does seem to be used as a filler name at the moment. My middle name is Ann and I have come across so many people my age (in Ireland anyway) with the same middle name over the years. Think that one was a bit of a filler too!

How about Sienna Marie, Holly, Nieve, Fay? I do think Louise goes quite well with Sienna though. It may be worth considering? x

MrsJWelsh · 15/10/2011 20:03

My. friend has a Sienna, its such a pretty name.
She has 'Emmie' as a middle name which I think works but dont know if its just because Im used to it!
Rose goes really nicely, but i do sort of agree with the 'filler' comments

Liking Sienna Mae so far from the suggestions x

I am with two girls on this - I think a single syllable name sounds best and of all the suggestions, I think Sienna Grace is just lovely!
