Erin or Florence

What do you think?

I have a DS George and now expecting a girl,

I like classic names but my only worry with Florence is that it might be a bit too faddy?

Personally, I'd go Erin. I also have a George and as pretty a name as Florence is, it is possibly a bit twee next to George as a name....

Erin's my chosen girls name I love it! Florence makes me think of my aunt Florrie so less of a like for me

I also weighed up Ruby Erin but decided Ruby was far far to popular round my neck of the woods

Erin is lovely. We know a few little Florences.

Florence is quite trendy indeed, even the Camerons picked it!

My nan was called Florence and DD1 has it as her middle name, she is nearly 10 though so this was a while ago :) I love it.

Florence is lovely :) Perhaps getting fashionable but also classic and pretty.

Not so keen on Erin. It's a bit nothing-y with its lack of consonants, and getting a bit trendy along with Isla and Orla.

My nan's first name was Florence and her surname was George so I think it is lovely and they go together very nicely indeed :)

Love them both! Erin quite popular in Scotland. Florence not v. common these days, although nearly everybody has an auntie flo (don't they?)

Florence is lovely, but it is fast becoming very popular.

Erin is lovely too, unfussy and with the added bonus that it can't be shortened

I love Florence and it was on our shortlist but we've been put off by its popularity at the moment. Erin is lovely.

I was going to say that Erin is a name of its time while Florence is more classic but perhaps I'm wrong. Both nice names, I think Florence goes better with George but I think you have to like the nns for it Flo, Florrie, Floss, Flossy?
