Female Versions of Peter?

Anyone know of any other than Petra?

Would like to use a family name as a middle name even if it is a girl but can't think of how to feminise Peter (other than Petra which I'm not loving).

Isn't Petrova a surname rather than a first name? I think Petrov translates as Peterson

one of the girls in ballet shoes was called petrova

@LiquoriceAllsorts2 , I know. Her sisters were Pauline and Posy. The author was a woman.

Cella means rock, like Peter

KirstenBlest · 06/06/2023 12:14

@RosaSkye , where is Cella from? I've not seen it before and how does one say it?

@KirstenBlest its an old Latin name , in Italian it would be said like “chell- ah” with a hard ch for cheese. Can see there would be pronunciation issues though as here it would probably be Sellah…. Spelt Sela, it is actually the original biblical name for Petra

Was just racking my brains for something meaning the same as Peter!

KirstenBlest · 06/06/2023 12:54

Thanks. I think it's a bit too close to Cellar.

RosaSkye · 06/06/2023 12:57

@KirstenBlest yes I think you’re right!

KirstenBlest · 06/06/2023 13:00

@RosaSkye , Atticus seems fairly popular, so presumably Attica would be ok, so maybe Cella would be ok

Love the girls name Peta - very cool. I knew someone at Uni who had it as her middle name. And as a middle name I'd definitely use it (especially as it makes it more obvious you are honouring a Peter) , although it might be misspelt/misheard too often as the boys version for a first name choice.
