DH is irish (irish surname) but we live in england. We want an irish name but one that I can pronounce and spell.

What do you think?

I prefer Eamonn

PercyFilth · 23/08/2011 19:54

I think of a spectacular car chase through Paris ... :)

... OK that was Ronin, but still.

InstantAtom · 23/08/2011 19:58

It's quite nice, and easy to spell/pronounce.

I do like Eammon, but I think of Eammon Holmes. I don't think Ronan Keating is a bad association, he's pretty good looking!, and baby won't be interested in "old" music like that and will go "Ronan who?". The only other Ronan I can find is a rugby player, so again not bad!

I think it's a lovely name but I'm Irish.....

CarrieOakey · 23/08/2011 20:17

Love it and the only Ronan I know is one of 4 lovely lovely brothers.

AlfalfaMum · 23/08/2011 20:17

yay from me - one of my oldest, bestest friends is Ronan. One of mine might have been Ronan if they weren't all girls :o

SiamoFottuti · 23/08/2011 20:19

I don't think of Keating, but then I am in Ireland and know about 20 Ronans, including several in family.

wigglesrock · 23/08/2011 20:31

I love Ronan, dd1 goes to school with one, they're 6 and its really lovely every time she says it.

Ponyclubmum · 23/08/2011 20:34

I didn't like the name (prob because of Ronan Keating) until I watched Stargate Atlantis and got a bit of a crush on the character called Ronan (he plays Conan in the new film btw). I like the name Ronan now...

tammytoby · 23/08/2011 21:56

I think Ronan is a lovely name. Not overused either.
