I think it looks very pretty, but its one of those names that I fear would trip me up and have a pronunciation completely different to the way it looks (like Niamh) .

How do you pronounce it?

ohthanks · 23/08/2011 15:26

Tristan and

But I like it makes a change from isabel/Isobel/Isabella 's you get

picnicbasketcase · 23/08/2011 15:27

I prefer Iseult (which I think is another version of the name), but I rather like Isolde as well.

MrsY · 23/08/2011 17:13

Hatti, I would say is-auld but some say is-auld-e

I like it, but worried it's a bit pretentious!

Lovely name, very nice :)

I'd pronounce it Izz-old-uh.

CurwySwide · 23/08/2011 17:39

I think it is a really lovely name - would like to use it for a potential DD but my husband vetoed it when I suggested it (which annoyed me greatly).

chandellina · 23/08/2011 21:31

i thought it was pronounced more like "izzelda." i love the look of it but the pronunciation and spelling could be a nightmar

limetrees · 23/08/2011 21:33

Difficult to pronounce. I don't like it for that reason.

I know an iosold - pronounced ee-o-sold. Really pretty.

FoxyRevenger · 23/08/2011 21:51

I think it's very try-hard. Sorry.

FairyArmadillo · 23/08/2011 22:18

Lovely.

rushofbloodtothefeet · 23/08/2011 22:22

I think it's lovely. Originally from the Welsh Esyllt which I love even more. DD's toy dalmation is called Isotta which is the Italian version.

Other forms are Yseult and Iseult

My little 2 year old is Isolde, no one has the name but we gave it for personal reasons. Hardly anyone in the family really likes it but we don't care. Suits her and she is Izzy for short. Like what has been said, makes a change from Isabella, Isabelle etc. My sister actually sniffed and said she liked those names better! Not pretentious but from an ancient English legend. Go for it!!!!
