I'm afraid I know a dog called Juniper so I always think of it as a dog name!! (Same for me with lots of nature inspired names, Rowan, Poppy etc) Inevitably will get shortened to June.

When thinking about names ask yourself this question. If you heard the name yelled in the park, how many legs would you expect whoever came running to have.

I said this on the last Juniper thread too but my baby daughter is called Juniper. We call her Juno.. people have been nice about it to our faces at least!! I guess I'm a BIT of a hippy.. but not really.. ehem.

Obviously I like it, I knew it would be "controversial" when I first thought of it but we decided to stick with it and it really suits her.

is the first thing that comes to mind. Sorry!

How about Genevre? Not that I dislike Juniper but they are prickly trees - but then so is Holly so what do I know!

A friend of mine has a daughter named Juniper and they shorten it to Junie or Juni (they live in a scandinavia) I think its pretty!

Juno is nice. Prefer that to Juniper.

Juinper was the name of the girl in Benny and Joon.

I like it

I quite like Juniper - different and pretty. June would be a lovely nickname.

Juno, on the other hand, sounds masculine to my ears. But June is lovely.
