Two kids with names starting with same letter

Is this ok that both my boys would start with an 'E'? Dh and I can only only agree on one name, which is getting frustrating. I like the only one we agree on but I don't passionately love it, and I'm really stuck.

Two of my boys have the same first name initial (and same surnames). DH and I also have the same first and middle initial as well.

It hasn't caused any problems yet with the boys, and as a previous poster said it will save me a couple of pounds in nametapes!

My / DH initials being similar have caused a problem once, when a credit card company, with whom we both had our own accounts, used to post letters to us using initials/surname only - not even Mr or Mrs. We were always opening each others' mail! Luckily not an issue for us but it was frustrating.

My ex-h and his DB had the same initials and it was a real problem for them and the post. Also people getting their names muddled up.

My DC3, and 2 of his cousins (from different families) have the same initials and when we have a get together it's hilarious as everyone runs through all the names before they get the right one, even if it is their own child.

My DC have the initials F, P and B so I have no problems with initials :)

I would never have thought that the post thing was such a widespread problem. Never even crossed my mind...
NickNacks - no, as in something like James Gerrard. Those aren't the names but you get the idea.

One of my brothers and I have the same first initial. Was never a problem.

DH and I have exactly the same first 2 intials and Surname. We occassionally accidentally open each other's post, but I would not say this was a problem.

exoticfruits · 10/07/2011 22:13

I wouldn't-it makes post impossible.

We don't use name tapes anyway, I use those fabric pens which never wash off. Also there'll be nearly 7 years difference between these two boys so I don't think uniform mix up is gonna be a problem Grin

Both my children's names begin with the same letter, plus, that letter matches the first letter of our surname. I think it's cute to have two DCs with the same initials, and the alliterate firstname/surname sounds strong and successful, to me anyway :)

My sister and I have the same initial and it has never been an issue. Since getting married my SIL has exactly the same name as me which is weird but you cant predict these things lol

My two ds's have the same initial first name and its never a problem as everything is addressed including their middle initial.

I've set myself up for post he'll then!
DS and DD's 1st and middle initials are the same
