viable nn for Eleanora, or am I stretching things a bit too much?

Would like an alternative to Ellie/Ella/Elle and am not keen on Lenore, Nora, etc.

Stretching a bit I think - I would see Elsa a name in its own right.

How about Nell?

I think you'd need an S in the name to make that work.

Of ocurse you can put Rachel on the birth certificate but call your child Elsa day-to-day if you really want to. No reason why nicknames have to make sense :)

Or Lea,
Or Nor/Nora
Even Annie from El-AN-or

Personally I like Nell or Ellie.

I have an Elsa and it just doesn't fit with Eleanor apart from haring an initial!

Elsa is a lovely name in it's own right. Very cool and stylish and uncommon.

Not Elsie though - sorry that reminds me of Les Dawson.

There are some reasons why I have to use Eleanora if DH and I ever have a DD, and I was just feeling out different nn possibilities.

I was only thinking the other day, if I ever had another child (which I won't!) and it's a girl I would like to call her Elsa.

It was my grandmas cats name (but that was 20 yrs ago, and it's not a 'proper' cats name )

If so, I think you could easily use Elsa as a nn then, as I know people who have implemented their middle name in their nickname.

One friend is called May Catherine and she calls herself Macy (May C)!

For example, you could use Eleanora Sarah, El Sa.

To be honest, there is no reason why couldn't just use Elsa, there is no law you have to use a nickname that is directly from that name.

PurpleStrawberry's idea would work with Eleanora Sarah or something along those lines..
