What are your thoughts? I like it but I worry that my boy will be teased.

I want a strong, masculine name. Any ideas?

Love it, love it, love it. Was our boy choice but we had dd2.

EveryonesJealousOfGingers · 15/06/2011 16:18

I think of wellies and Gladiators in that order!

BlueChampagne · 15/06/2011 17:04

Prepare yourself for the Fear and Loathing comments.

MelinaM · 15/06/2011 17:06

Wellies here too ..sorry!

PurpleStrawberry · 15/06/2011 17:19

Honestly?

Just change the H to a C, and spot the potential nickname NO-ONE wants.

Not only that, I see it is rather down-market, it's the type of name rednecks in America call their kids.

pointydog · 15/06/2011 17:19

Ug. Me Hunter. You woman.

CJ2010 · 15/06/2011 17:27

PurpleStrawberry - Ha ha! Oh dear, hadn't thought of that.

Gladiators, wellies, and rednecks. Sorry, but it's really awful.

MamaLazarou · 15/06/2011 19:07

Hunter the munter. And that balding bloke off Gladiators.

Sorry.

Bandwitch · 15/06/2011 20:25

Awful. It's really..........aggressive.

Mrsfluff · 15/06/2011 20:30

I like it

browneyesblue · 15/06/2011 20:33

I like it, but DH didn't.

UrsulaBuffay · 15/06/2011 20:34

Masculine to the extreme, like a cartoon version of a man. And the gladiator.

GetOrf · 15/06/2011 20:34

lol at fear and loathing.

It's a vile name. Call the kid Bernard.

Bunbaker · 15/06/2011 20:35

Soory, but it doesn't appeal to me. It is a tad pretentious.

messybessie · 15/06/2011 20:37

This breaks my golden rule of naming children.

If you hear someone shout it in a park, how many legs do you expect to come running.

nancy75 · 15/06/2011 20:37

Dp wanted hunter when I was pregnant (he is australian they like funny names), luckily she turned out to be a dd, had she been a boy I still wouldn't have used it,it's awful

LoopyLoopsBettyBoops · 15/06/2011 20:37

Not keen. Pure bullying material. How about Axel?

LoopyLoopsBettyBoops · 15/06/2011 20:38

Grin messybessie

GetOrf · 15/06/2011 20:39

Having pretentions to what, though?

Living in a trailer in Alabama? Drink root beer for breakfast?

It's a name which should come with a free lumberjack shirt.

razzlebathbone · 15/06/2011 20:41

I love it but I know I shouldn't.

blossomtrees · 15/06/2011 20:50

my frineds dh name.It is brilliant really suits him and their second name

SpeedyGonzalez · 15/06/2011 20:52

Hate it. Pretentious and macho. Sorry, CJ2010!

smother · 15/06/2011 23:55

Fine, as long as your surname is not Gatherer.
