Richenda

What do you think? We want something unusual and have rarely heard this used.

I prefer Richarda

erm, there's probably a reason its not well-used. Sounds like one of those "we much make a girls name out of a boys name" names.

But lots of girls names are female versions of male names e.g.
Victor - Victoria
Charles - Charlotte
Thomas - Thomasina
Stephan - Stephanie
Laurent -Laurence
Michael - Michaela

Alexander - Alexandra

I know, but IMO this is one that sounds forced, like Nigella ( I know thats not just from a boys name) and Thomasina. Just my opinion.

Funnily enough, Nigella's sister was called Thomasina and her other sister was Horatia.

Now I like Richenda but Ricki is awful!

Richard is a nice name for a boy but IMO there is no way it coverts well into a girls name.

Richenda? Sounds like someone who wears very sensible shoes and has a bowl haircut to me! Or a german witch. sorry, but you will ask complete strangers their honest opinions!

Some of the other Ric names for a girl are more feminine IMO. Richella, Richele, Richenza, Richina?

My first thought was Chalet School as well :)

That one was Richenda Fry named after Joseph Fry's daughter (he of chocolate and Quaker roots). Think she was alive during the 1800s.

I really like Richard for a boy (Richie/Rich) but Richenda and also Richarda or Rishenda) oh good grief no.

Was Nigella lawson's sister called Richenda?? and the other one Thomasina?

Hmm... My first thoughts were 'Urgh' but the more I say it to myself, the more I like it.
