I dislike the sound of the name, simple as that.

Pretty common in 60 year old Irish men.

CristinaTheAstonishing · 08/06/2011 23:22

I like it. Even considered it for one of mine.

CristinaTheAstonishing · 08/06/2011 23:24

Oakmaiden - yes, like Fortran!

AlfalfaMum · 08/06/2011 23:47

Mollydoggerson gosh, yes, there was a Pascal used to work in my Granny's bakery, I'd say he'd be just about 60 now :o (I wonder if you're thinking oif the same man)

UndiscoveredApprentice · 08/06/2011 23:59

poncey - sorry

kiteflying · 09/06/2011 08:43

My daughter's favourite movie is Tangled - so for me it is the name of the pet chameleon

seeker · 09/06/2011 08:50

Do you have a slightly poncy last name too? Could you pretend convincingly that you are part French? Do you mind that it's usually a girl's name?

rachel234 · 09/06/2011 09:33

I like Pascal (seeker the female version is Pascale) and don't think you need a particular surname (perhaps not one starting with P if you don't like alliterations), but I much prefer Bruno.

seeker · 09/06/2011 11:27

I know it is, but who wants to go through life saying "My name's Pascal without an e"

I speak as someone who has gone through life saying "My name's Cathleen with a C"

GrassCutter · 09/06/2011 11:57

Pascal is also the name of a programming language - I prefer Bruno too

oohlaalaa · 09/06/2011 12:59

Awful

Firawla · 09/06/2011 19:47

it sounds quite nice i think, but reminds me of rascal

pretty common in 60 year old irish men? that's very interesting. I think that might have put me off.
