Is it really bad to have children with the same initial?

I started another thread about names for our 2nd child. We don't know the sex yet but my current favourite for a girl and one I know my husband loves is Phoebe.

The only thing putting me off at the moment is that we already have a daughter called Poppy so both daughters (should baby turn out to be a girl) would have the initial P.

Does anyone have children with the same first initial or a sibling with same 1st initial as them? Does/ did it cause loads of problems with mail or at school/ doctor etc?

No one in the RL would think anything of it.

Of course they do! I thought about it long before MN and wouldn't do it-it makes the post impossible. You can give them a middle name, but I find that on the whole, when they get older and official letters etc they get one initial and surname.I would hate it if a sibling was opening my post.

i did it - though not intentionally.......it took me a couple of weeks to realise [blonde]

i have Erin & Ewan - so different sex and different sounds but same initial.. not had any problems yet

Dsis and I do, never caused any trouble in the 16+ years we lived together. Very occasionally we'd get post that took a moment to assign, but not often.
Children get very little post (might be a pain if their birthdays are close) and the doctors and school write to the parent or carer of x so that doesn't matter either.
I suppose it would be Blush if your sister opened a love letter, but given given email, phones etc this seems highly

What... honestly what... could it possibly matter? Just use the name you like and don't worry about something this trivial. They're both lovely names... go for it.
