Too few syllables? Too severe?

Need to end an argument!

Is Sam and Lee two potential first names or is the first name Sam and middle name Lee?, if so I honestly don't think they match and yes do sound severe

SunSoakedStone · 08/05/2011 11:01

Yeah Sam 1st, Lee Middle

As long as your surname doesn't start with a Y it should be OK. As already pointed out middle names rarely get used anyway.

meditrina · 08/05/2011 11:20

Boy or girl? You might want to think about putting Samantha or Samuel on the BC to give the option of a different cadence.

jellybeans · 08/05/2011 12:30

I think a double sound would go better in the middle. Or use Samuel.

MelinaM · 08/05/2011 12:31

It sounds, and looks rather silly. It needs a longer first or middle nameSmile

iwasyoungonce · 08/05/2011 12:36

I like it. :)

pilates · 08/05/2011 13:35

No doesn't sound right to me, is there another name you could use for the middle name?

MercurySoccer · 08/05/2011 13:48

Doesn't sound right with two very short names together. How about...

Samantha Leah
Samantha Lianna
Samantha Leanne

Samuel Lee
Samson Lee
Samuel Ainslee

Only if you're Chinese.
Samantha and Samuel much better on bc, even if you only ever call him/her Sam (as mn probably won't be SAID much anyway).

strawberrylion · 08/05/2011 19:15

I'd say no purely because I know Sam Lee - and he ended up in prison!!!

herethereandeverywhere · 10/05/2011 09:24

You are aware of the ex-Liverpool footballer Sammy Lee? It might not bother you but his song was "He's fat, he's round, he bounces on the ground Sammy Lee". I assume you don't live in the north west of England? If so prob. not an issue.

LucretiaInShadows · 11/05/2011 17:32

I like Samantha Leigh, but I'm one of those who thinks Sam is a nickname not a name.

Not so sure about Samuel Lee - the "l" sounds in the middle run together and somehow make an association in my mind with "smelly".

Aside from "it's not a proper name", I think Sam Lee [Smith] (for the sake of an example) is too monosyllabic and severe.

SunSoakedStone · 11/05/2011 21:15

Ha ha, I am indeed aware of the footballer but not in the NW anymore!

No, definitely won't be a Samuel (sorry- not keen). Just a Sam.

Someone has actually touched on my name! I'm very monosyllabic myself.
