I think Annie Rose is very pretty. Thoughts? Not preg, just asking. :) I'd like it short for something else, like Susannah Rose, etc.

Actually, I like double names under the right circumstances, and with the right combination... Especially if it is nn from a more formal name! This works! :)

Thanks! :) I just think it's rather pretty...

One of my favorite approaches to a name like this is to use a more formal name, and play of the meaning(s). For example, one of my favorite 1st/2nd name combos for a long time has been Abriella Chalina, nn Abbie Rose... "Chalina" means 'rose'!

My DS has a double name. If you like it then go for it.

My gt grandmother's sister was Annie-Victoria. I think that's a lovely name.

Have always liked Annie Rose since childhood thanks to Shirley Hughes.

sometimes a second soft name can reduce the impact of a harder first name
or vice versa eg katie morag
i know a margaret rose whichi think is lovely really makes margaret sound so much more gentle

I have a double barrelled name and so does DS2.

I love them.

MitchiestInge · 05/05/2011 13:51

I hate them. I have one, it sounds like an STD or embarrassing bowel problem.

Whelk · 05/05/2011 14:00

Oh is Mitchiestinge your real name then?? Grin Wink

Oldest DD was supposed to have one but exMIL always used the first name and that stuck for a bit, but DD started using the full version (no hyphen ever involved, just to reassure) in her late teens. It's a French name, two French names actually.

It is pretty - and everyone will buy her the Alfie books every birthday for the first four years! Wink

That's where I got it from! Blush We don't have them here but I read one for the first time the other day.
